Morning all!
Well I have the weekend off work, no overtime available and what happens I wake up at the crack of dawn and can't sleep - typical!
So far today I have....
1/ Done food shop at tescos (all healthy - than you Good Riddance!)
2/ Cleaned the kitchen fully
3/ Tidyed the living room and now just have to dust and hoover.
Not bad for a Saturday morning eh?? Can't hoover as A is asleep in bed after night shift. Going to make a start on the bathroom though and then leave the bedroom to A - he he!
So onto diet - I had a typical day good all day until the evening. Gosh I annoy myself SO MUCH! No willpower or just simply a pig.
Yesterday -
Breakfast - bowl of muesli
Mid morning snack - banana
Lunch - fresh tomato and basil soup with small slice of french bread.
Dinner - Pizza, then had a bowl of porridge and two chunks of toblorone.
Must be better today. So far.....
Breakfast - crossaint and cup of tea.
Roxie, haven't heard about the flat yet. They said it could take a good week or so. I really really want it, be just my luck not to get it. Still trying to worry about it as not my decision so to speak.
A and I planning on that long walk today. However, it is pouring down here but I am sure we will still go as have the waterproofs and walking boots etc. Something nice about walking in the rain but being snug in all your gear. We are still hoping to do those 5 days(28th april onwards) up in the Lake District walking etc - I really want to do Striding Edge. All depends on money really though as move is going to cost us best part of £2K with deposts, month up front, fees etc etc.
Right enough yapping from me, it's far too early!0 -
wow - SI - you're going for it this morning! Think you've inspired me to have a good clean - all i've done so far is get up and feed the kids!
You know what - to me, you're diet yesterday doesnt sound bad at all - and you're certainly not a pig! Pizzas a nono but we all need a treat - I think making your own is healthier thou - althou I guess it kind of defeats the object of fast 'cant be bothered' food. Still, i guess it doesnt take too minutes to put some tomatoe and cheese on a ready made base? And 2 chunks of toblerone, big woop - at least you stopped at 2 chunks. The rest of the day sounds great - v healthy.
I ended up having a jacket pot with tuna and sweetcorn (tiny bit of mayo on side) with a salad, so felt very virtuos - and full up. Didnt snack at all. Although, I needed to make up for the crisps and muffin.
My friend actually shamed me, as she's lost 3 stone (although, I think she's gone too far and really doesnt need to lose any more) - in the time I ate a sandwich and crisps, she had half a sandwich. She then had a couple of bites of the muffin I brought her, prob just not to be rude. She put me to shame, but I dont understand how she wasnt really hungry still.
Planning on a cheap/free weekend this weekend - need to redress the balance! Thimg is, the weather is rotten and I hate being stuck indoors.
Good luck with the flat SI!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Well now finished the bathroom, popped to the bank to pay money in and managed to get showered, dressed - makeup etc. Check me out. Just finished watching american idol and thought I would log in.
Gosh, no wonder your friend has lost so much weight! Mind you her appetite has probably reduced and not only that but the amont she can it. I would be the same as you sandwich, crisps etc. There is no way I could eat just half a sandwich for lunch. Never! This is where I see the need for me to increase exercise as I love eating too much.
I'm bored now. A is still soundo although wants to be up no later than 2pm as today is the first of his 4 rest days. Not sure if he wants to go for a walk or not - it hasn't stopped raining! He is off to golf tomorrow too. If he doesn't I am going to go to the gym today and tomorrow whilst he is at golf.
Could go out to Southampton (home town) for drinks tonight with friends but that would mean driving good 45 mins and only be able to have a coke. Don't think I will bother - plus it's raining so won't be that nice down by the waterfront anyway. Think its going to be a dvd night for me.
Anyway, i'm off to sit and read the paper. Have a good one!0 -
sorting it - your food isnt that bad you know
pizza - choose a thin crust maybe a vegetarian one and if you had had a big allowed salad with it you may not have needed the porridge or choccie
however - porridge is a great snack - low GI which means it stabilises blood sugar levels and give a slow release of energy and is low fat
i make it with 1 cup of water and half a cup of milk then just a splash to finish - also try not to use too much sugar - maybe you take salt with it the scottish way ?
roxie dinner sounds fine - just remember a jkt potato should only be the size of your fist
good idea re. gym btw sorting it
ive just finished a gym shift and had a lovely comment from a lady returning to the gym after a break about how i had enthused her and she was all excited to get back into it !!
have good weekends:j MFi3 wannabee :j

hey SI - how good was david cook this week!? His mariah carey. always be my baby was out f this world - I've had it stuck in my head since i watched - I really hope he releases it as a single, I'd buy it. He's the runaway winner for me - weird as I didnt like him much to start with but now I just think he's brilliant!
Hi Daisy - it great when you get some satisfaction from your job - makes you feel so much happier going to work! ps - yep the jacket was quite small - I'm not a big spud fan really.
Today thus far -
brekkie - small glass oj, 2 slices toast, cup of tea (when d's at home he goes mad if i dont have something).
late lunch (just had it) - homemade cheeseburgers, grilled, with roasted sweet potatoe chips. Naughty but v nice! And surely better then normal chips??
straw yogurt.
Just about to take boys out for a long walk from our 'walks to do in derbyshire with kids' book, to burn off lunch.
Prob have something small later on as am v full up from lunch.
ps SI -you inspired me to clean our bathroom too - and sort out my knicker drawer throwing away all the too small, too tatty etc. Thanks for making me feel like a lazy cow!! :rotfl:

Evening all!
Glad I made you feel lazy Roxie, at least I know I wasn't the only one cleaning on a Saturday!! He he, just kidding. Sounds like you cook some lovely meals, the kitchen in our current flat just doesn't have space and I really don't enjoy cooking in it. If we get the flat we want (fingers crossed) it has a huge modern kitchen so I am looking forward to experimenting and cooking A and I some nice healthy ones.
Thanks Daisy for the advice. I tend to make my porridge with water only and then add milk when finished on top as find it too creamy otherwise. Although you caught me on the old sugar - I add tons! Sounds like you have a really rewarding job and that you enjoy it. Make a big difference I am sure :-)
Well today A and I went for a 10 mile walk on the South Downs - blo#dy hell my legs are killing! Still really glad I have done it now and feel great for it and it was a beautiful day too. T-shirt weather all day long, very nice :-)
As for eating, well today I had crossaint and bowl of shreddies for breakfast, Tuna Jkt for lunch and then pasta bake (with less cheese than normal) for dinner. Well and truely stuffed now.
Reliving my youth a bit tomorrow evening and I am off to play netball - can't wait!! A girlfriends of A's mate goes along so thought I would give it a go. Could be fun and will be exercise too!!
Hope you both had a lovely weekend.0 -
morning!
hey si - well done on the walk :T bet you're feelnig virtuous now - I am.
Last weeks exercise log -
davina - twice!!
swimming
long walk
4 lots - not bad. Gonna aim to do something every day this week, even if its just a half hour walk. Think I need to rev it up a notch in order to see the results i need to motivate me. I think thats my problem - I dont do enough to see results so think, aw sod it, its not doing any good so may as well not bother! Good luck with the netball - things like that are a good way to get exercise - although I was crap at it at school so cant imagine much has changed since then!
I do enjoy cooking - I would love a bigger kitchen thou! We've got an average size kitchen diner - not big by a long way, but big enough (just!)
Anyways - food wise - fell off the wagon a bit on sat night and finished the day off with half a pizza and salad, plus some easter egg.
Yesterday I took my friend out for dinner for her birthday so had -
brunch - sausage, beans and toast (dale made it so I felt obliged to eat it - even though I dont really like cooked brekkies)
snacks - non :T being good in anticipation of dinner
dinner - asparagus with poached egg and parmesan starter plus bread
sea bream in tom and chorizo sauce, with cream potatoes
choc mousse with shortbread biscuit
2 glasses of red wine, cappucino
I tried to be good - ish with my choices - I know they're not the healthiest but they defo weren't the unhealthiest. Normally would have had the baked cheese starter, followed by the steak, chips, creamy sauce - so I did bear it in mind. I still really enjoyed it thou - and it was nice to have the fish for a change.
Money wise, aiming for no spend today and to be good for the rest of the month. D had a 'chat' with me about the fact that we're not saving as much as we should be - he says we need to start being more frugal - bit then in the next breath he's saying shall we get some dvds from blockbusters. He's all for being fugal - as long as he doesnt have to change anything:o I told him to bear in mind that we'd bought alot for the house and we cant have it both ways. Hopefully thou, his pay rise will mean we can put more away. He finds out how much he'll get when his boss gets back from his holidays to new york so it'll be some time in may.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Hi,
I can't walk this morning!!! Well I can but if you could see me you would laugh. I think I used muscles yesterday that haven't been used in a long long while - even my bum cheeks hurt - what's that all about??? Anyhow, I am looking at it as a good thing. Not sure about the netball tonight though as don't think i'll be able to move.
Sounds like you have had a lovely weekend. I think you did well on the eating really given that you went out. I think I am the same as you, if I don't see results quickly I end up giving up. I'll have to up the old exercise and effort too.
Don't talk to me about money - I too have fallen off that one and kind of put it to the back of my mind. Not good. I need to get back to it and keep on saving as want to pay off this debt much earlier than my dmp end date of about 5 years. Must start looking at things again, think I will use our move as a new start so to speak as will have to re-jig my dmp. We are being good at the minute though and trying to use up everything in cupboards and freezer. I do have a lot of veg, salmon and cod in the freezer so no excuse for unhealthy dinners I suppose.
Am hoping to hear back about the flat this week. A and I said if we just knew we would feel more settled and relax a bit but as it stands at minute as of 1st June we don't have anywhere....I am sure it will be fine though. Just impatient and hate waiting about :-(
Right must get on and do some work. At home again and A tucked up in bed fast asleep - not fair!0 -
Ok, doing well so far today. Just need to keep it up.
So far....
Breakfast - muesli
Mid morn - handful of grapes
Lunch - beans on toast. Using 1 slice wholegrain bread & one small pot of baked beans.
Just got to be good now for rest of the day!0
