  • Hey,

It's always great to set little goals for the day - good luck with them!

As for stats - haven't measured myself in a while so will have to do that later with A's help. As for weight went to boots at the weekend and 10st 8lbs - want to loose a stone.

Basic size - 12/14 on top
    12 on bottom (mostly)

Want to be - 12 on top comfotable and aiming for a 10 below. Most of my weight tends to go from hips up! Will measure myself tonight.

Did go out for meal with A last night and it was really enjoyable. Managed to sink a bottle of wine and few beers between us too. I feel much better about things now if you get what I mean.

Ooh so excited with this getting fit. I am lucky as A training to walk Pennine Way - 270 odd miles...crazy fool! So he is going on lots of training walks so may accompany him however I am not carrying a 2st rucksack at the same time!!!

The lakes is a good target for you. We are hoping to go up wk of 28th April for some walking and camping. We love the outdoors!

Best get back to work but will post later.

good god, the kids are driving me bonkers already! I just ate a whole easter egg!!!

does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of 'baby belly'. I really want to get rid of my gut but sit ups dont seem to be doing the job!

Sit-ups wont get rid of it. You will just get a nice set of abs hidden under the fat.

You need a balanced diet and cardio exercise to shift the flab. About 1800 calories, no trans or saturated fats, stay away from the fast food and processed foods. Dont starve yourself or let yourself get hungry. When your body is deprived of food it tells itself that food is hard to come by and the next time you eat it stores it as fat reserves. Low GI foods give you a steady release of energy over a longer period of time so for example a bowl of porridge, or a pasta dish should keep you satisfied for a few hours. Processed crap like a McDonalds and you're hungry again an hour later right?

Aim for 3 30 minute sessions of exercise a week which get the heart rate going and gets you out of breath. Still do the sit ups though. Muscles use up energy/calories.

thanks for the advice peeps - gonna try to stick to 3 sessions a week! not sure about the 1800 calories a day thou - that might be difficult as I have no clue of the calorie content of what I'm eating - particularly as I cook most dinners from scratch so its not like there's a label to look at.

cheap as chips - a nice bit of illness is whats set me on the way -I'm ashamed to say the needle was often tipping 12 stone previously - the heaviest i've ever been (non pregnant).
Re the 8 and half stone - I was nine stone once - couldn't imagine ever being that again thou - where I'd lose 3 stones from god knows. I'd be a stick (I was a stick with boobs! But at the time was too young and blaise to appreciate it! If only i'd walked around in a bikini abit more!)

Done the davina - phew! Baked chocolate cakes with the kids (oh dear!) and just about to get set with the ironing  boo! I hate ironing, it sucks! Oh, and put my new purchases away and did a mini sort of my wardrobe - I have far far too little space and hate throwing things out. Something has to give!

Oh gosh - almost forgot - D's boss has told him he's going to be getting a payrise and a 'loyalty bonus'. Yey. The loyalty bonus is really nice as D is very loyal and where other people have left he's stuck with it. He also never takes sick days (unless dying!) . He's a v loyal employer and its nice to have that recognised. Plus he only just got a £2500 bonus at xmas time!
Whatever he gets will def all be going into the savings - no excuses!!

Right - just took two bites of a cookie then quickly put it down - step away from the cookie!!

    Today I have eaten

brunch - 1 and half croissants
snacks - fresh pineapple (4/5 pieces  ),
1 choc bun (plus bowl lickage), half a cookie
dinner - tagliatelli carbonara, 1 piece of garlic bread
    wine - 2 glasses

Exercise - the davina (1 hr)

I feel like I've eaten loads and been really greedy today - tho the carbonara is a real fatty treat as its white pasta, cream, bacon. still, I dont think I've eaten that much - I mean, my calorie intake cant be that high can it??

I know I dont eat properly during the day but cant stomach anything other than a cuppa for breakfast - then I normally have 'brunch' around 10.30 and that plus maybe a little snackage see's me through. I know its naughty, as i'm probably clinging to my fat :(

you have loaded up on the carbs there roxie - carbs for brekkie/brunch but also very high in fat
pineapple is very carby due to the huge amount of natural sugars then dinner was carbs with a side order of carbs

carbs are basically sugar once our bodies have converted them and also lock you into a situation of crazy blood sugar levels with highs and lows that keep you on a craving vicious cycle (imo)

think of your plate and divide it into 4 - 1 section for protein 1 section for carbs and 2 sections for veg/salad
try not to have more than one portion of carbs at each meal

hope this comes over as constructive as its meant but sorry if its a bit preachy !! :)
