hey! happy easter weekend! not been on much as cant get a look in when d is at home - he's obsessed with champ man on the pc grrrrr. Greta weekend so far. Got all the family stuff out of the way - went to see my cousins 4 week old twin babies Daisy and Scott - they're absolutely tiny! Bless.
Sat was shopping and cleaning day (not that you'd know looking at the house 2 days later!). Had friends round for dinner - made a stew in the slow cooker which was a great success - the meat was really tender. Also made a cheesecake which was less of a success but still edible - phew. Yesterday we were v naughty and took the kids out to the cinema and for dinner so todays gonna be an ironing/dossing day!
Gone over budget already, as usual this month - I really need to pull my finger out I guess and start making some sacrifices. With all the spending on the house, and prague we need to get back on an even keel money wise.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Ok, done all my sums and after all the housey things and the overspend on food -eek - we have £200 to add to the savings pot. Plus £100 for holiday. Not a great deal I know but we have bought a lot for the house. The goal is to not spend another penny between now and the end of march and keep that £200 at least in tact.
Aprils coming up so fingers crossed that Dale might get a pay rise! He got one with his bonus at CHristmas but his boss values him and is very generous so he usually gets something at April too - lucky us - fingers crossed thou!
Plan for today - do the ironin mountain - booooo! Watch wizard of oz - yey!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Afternoon!
£200 is a nice amount to add to savings and it is better than nothing and like you said you have brought a lot for the house etc. Will keep my fingers crossed for that payrise!
I plan on having me a no spend week from today to Friday - shouldn't need to as have just come back from shopping and we have enough food in to last a couple of weeks!
Can't wait for this week to pass as off to London with little sister to the Vitality Show - nice girly day....should be fun.
I have the opposite to you, mountains of washing to dry....not looking foward to the ironing that comes after!!0 -
FINALLY got throu the ironing mountain today! Bad news is that i've had a alcohol relapse and am currently most of a way throu a bottle of wine (god its amazing how quickly that happens - I normally have a box and so cant really see in bottle terms how much I've had!). Today was sooo stressy having both boys at home (inset day) took me back the the 'good old days' when they both just run rings round me and bicker all day. Todays drama was todd falling in the butchers (they were chasing each other while I tried to pay and the damn butcher was for some reason giving me a sermon on the merit of lamb loin over lamb leg) - anyway - he cut his head open - no stitches but I reckon it'll leave a nasty scar. So I now feel like worse mum in world!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Sounds like you have had a manic day!
Must be something in the air with kids. I had a call from my sister and the two eldest were messing about and somehow crashed into each other. The eldest split the whole inside of his lip and ended in casulty - poor love. Worst thing is they have now discovered that he has a phobia of needles and actually asked to see the size of the needle for the injection to numb his mouth and the size of the needle for the stitches he was due to have and actually opted to have the stitches without the injection as was far too upset....how brave is he! Bless him, I hate to think how much that hurt!!
Have a ton of ironing to do too - working from home all this week so will aim to do most of it throughout the week. What a life hey!0 -
morning all! todds got a playdate tomo so have the whole day free - what a rarity! Have (easily!) persuaded dale to skip work so we can spend the whole day together - will be luuuvvvvveerrrrlllyyyy!
cant believe its our first wedding anniversary in a few weeks - where has this year gone. spent alot of it glodetrotting like young carefree things. Cant believe we've been to mexico, new york, rome, disneyland and prague in the past year. We love travelling but have to tone it down abit or we're never gonna get anywhere with our savings! You wouldnt think it be I do actually have a massive transport phobia (not just flying, even cars - hence it taking me over 2 years to learn to drive as I was terrified) - and flying absolutely scares me witless! Lots of calms/alcohol and a firm grip on dale scrapes me throu! anyways, we're not going anywhere for our anniversary - a dinner out will be enough! its lovely that its coming up thou!
dales decided thath's going to ask for a payrise if one isnt forthcoming in april. The staff at his office has basically gone from 6 architects to just him so he has a much much bigger workload and the boss has a much lower wage bill so can afford it!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Afternoon,
Great news on the chill out day together tomorrow...those days make all the difference I think! It's like that with A & I with his shifts. It's lovely if his day off falls on the weekend (hardly ever!) as we get to spend proper time togther doing normal things on our own - even things like shopping together is a rarity for us! Hope you have a fab day!
Wow - souunds like you have been on some great hols. Which was for your honeymoon?
Having a productive day work wise, although very bored! Have to go in to London next week for a couple of days so that will be a change in scenery for me.
Doing fab on my healthy eating and exercise. Managed an ab's class last night and went for a swim during lunchbreak today...must keep it up!!
Also been great week re money - no spends so far.....0 -
Brilliant on the ns and the exercise! I forced myself to do the davina after putting the kids to bed last night - that was difficult but i hadnt done it in about a week! Abs is where it has to be for me - although i dont know if theres anything that can be done for my belly after 2 babies have stretched it out. its fine when stood up - its when I'm -ahem - on hands and knees it hangs down - gross!
for honeymoon we went to new york and the mexico - it was amazing - the holiday of a lifetime. We spent a fortune but it was so worth it. Then when we got back we had a second honeymoon with the kids to Eurodisney, which dales mum and dad had paid for as a wedding present. Great fun. Funny but the day after our wedding really stands out to me as one of the best days of my life - we spent the day and night at our hotel in leeds, waiting to go on our honeymoon the next day - the sun was shining, we were married - it was sooo nice wandering around leeds just us after the manic wedding day, looking forward to our dream honeymoon siiigggggghhhhhh.......
Yes, well, d is abit snowed at work and at first he said he couldn' t take it off, but I'm like how often do we ever get a day together without the children? Very rarely. We usual get a couple of weekends a year when his mum has them. It'll be lovely.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j
