He is six and a half. Always has to be ribena or 'no added sugar robinsons please'. Makes me smile as my mum never gave me fizzy drinks but nick always asks for proper juice, not coke like his dad! I have a little stool in kitchen and he cooks with me and helps chop stuff up and get things out the fridge for me. This way he is ten times more likely to eat his dinner than push around the plate.
You are so right about tv, he is downstairs watching Top Gear and I have Holby City on upstairs (only because I can't find the remote and can't change the channel on the actual box!!!!). Our neighbour has his whole living room as a TV, massive projector. I mean I like TV but thats a bit much!!Make £10 a day challenge - £21.00/£290

morning all - well, just had a guy round to quote for a shower - we dont have one and dales desperate for one. Thou to me it just sounds like more hassle to fit then its worth - all this talk of going into the loft and running wires through the floorboards - and there' the expense. Not got a price yet but seeing as we need a plumber and electrician I cant see it being cheap. Plus I dont like the idea of the wires being fiddled with - I get very worried about electrical fires as there seems to be one everyday on the local news!
It's cos dales started running so he wants a shower to jump into - but tbh if running lasts as long as his other fitness fads...well...
Plan for today is more work and more housework lol! House is all cleaned but just needs that final 'straighten'. God only knows what I'm gonna do with the 5 bin bags full of 'carp' that I got rid off! Its amazing how much rubbish was in this house - not that it looks that much better tbh - still feels cramped.
Have seen a lovely house on rightmove that would be perfect and would cost us about £400 a month more in mortgage than we pay now - so doable. But Dales just straight refusing to go see it. He says he doesn't want to move as we shouldn't be stretching ourselves financially. Yes, he's generally the sensible one. I know he's rightI wouldn't like the feeling that if anything went wrong we wouldn't have much breathing space - but I get totally lured by the fact thats its gorgeous, perfect and theoretically affordable.

good morning - just a quickie as about to head of to the docs (finally got an appointment after a week of trying) to talk about having my coil removed.
went to cobys parents eve last night as he's doing so well - top of the class - I'm so proud of him. I was looking throu his work book and the best bit was a pic of me that underneath he'd written 'my mummy is special because she does all the jobs.'Dales face was a picture!!
Had a 'dear' dinner last night iof chicken maryland (red day yest). For anyone who cares thats bacon wrapped chicken cooked in white wine and cream on a bed of sweetcorn and butterbeans - its yum but prob cost around £13 for 4. Still, D was happy he got some protein at last!
Had no wine last night - yey! Saving myself for tonight as I'm going to the curry night with a mate - its a great cheapy night out as curry and a drink is £6 so I only end up spending a tenner on dinner and drinks! Looking forward to it.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Hi Roxie,
Very jealous of your curry night...must check to see if any of the local pubs about here do it. I only moved here last year and still haven't tried all of them. It's a lovely little market town and has loads of restaurants etc. Mental note to try more, on a budget of course!
Dinner last night sounded yummy :-)
Nothing exciting happening my end. Working from home all this week and it is bliss, think it is going to become a more permanant thing now which will def save on the old pennies.
Must get back to it!0 -
its brilliant that you can do your work from home SI - what is it that you do - forgive me if you've already told me this!
the curry night is only at the local wetherspoons so I expect its a national 'event' - its every thurs here. Its always jam packed but the food is quite good and at that price tbh its a v cheap night out!
out all morning - treated todd (and myself lol) to fish and chips - v naughty I know but hey, we used to go once a week and we haven't been in absolutely yonks so its ok by me.
must also get on with some work also - the house is pretty much sorted now which is a lovely feeling - how long it'll stay that way is another matter but for now I'm enjoying not having that 'must clean this or that' feeling. aaaahhhh....MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Afternoon,
It is great and will really help towards clearing those debts - I work for local gov in benefits. Very boring actually but it pays ok and I can't take the drop in pay to do something else...one day eh!!
Know what you mean about the 'must clean' feeling it's horrible. I am always thinking I need to do this or that. I think what I need to do is take a leaf out of your book and do it from top to bottom. Funny actually I am going to my friends in a couple of Sat time to help her spring clean her house. I went to visit her and her new little girl Annabel and she was saying she is struggling and has had to lower her standards so to speak re cooking from scratch, perfect clean house etc etc as just doesn't find the time. First baby and her husband has just started his own business a year ago so still building on this which means long hours. So I offered to spend the day with her and help her do it from top to bottom.
Andy and I are going to check out the local pubs for curry nights, can't wait...yum yum! Although my wasteline could do without at the minute!!
On another note very annoyed...have a girls night out tomorrow evening and have developed a coldsore throughout the day :-( I look like a cartoon character as my bottom lip is all swollen...poor me.
Hope you are having a good afternoon xxx0 -
oh - poor you SI re the lip - I hate them! (coldsores - not lips lol!)
Had a really nice night last night - and v cheap! I spent less than a tenner and have a slight hangover this morning - cant be bad. Also was good and had chicken jalfrezi which was less than 5% fat - get me!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Ooh get you, sort of hangover adn a jalfrezi all for less than a tenner!!! Good night I say.
Coldsore feels a little more contained today...horrible things!
Andy dragged me to the gym last night, felt good for it though. We also went through my wardrobe and I got rid of loads and Andy said if I am good and stick at the healthy eating and exercise he'll take me shopping! I was having one of those miserable, i'm fat, I have no clothes that fit me days....poor me:-( he he.....
Starting a list of things to do notebook today, keep thinking of things each day so decided to note them and then hopefully I will get some done.
Tonight off out in to town with girls for a few drinks, find it hard here though as i am used to a big city night out (hometown) but moved here with Andy and it is only a small market town. Don't get me wrong I love it here but a night out is not the same.
Any nice plans for you today? I am thinking of doing my exercise dvd at lunchtime...see what you have done. I forgot I had it until you noted yours in your list of things to do!!
