Afternoon.
A day of getting organised as back to school tomorrow, I have ironed my work clothes and DS school uniform, they have only been sat in the basket for a week. Chicken roasting in the oven just need to prep veg, money has been put on school lunch accounts and soup taken out of freezer for my lunch tomorrow. I have also listed 5 items on ebay. Just need to hoover through and mop floors before bed.

Gosh not updated for a month and hasn't a lot changed.
Currently just taking it one day at a time, I'm still working in school but on a rota system so i'm not in everyday. DS feels as though the rug has been pulled from under him (yr 11) no exams and no idea what grades he will get or what the future holds.
But we are all well and are keeping going.
Trying to keep in a routine of chores in the morning and me time in the afternoon, yesterday afternoon I watched the da vinci code and made cupcakes.
Hope everyone is keeping safe xx

Morning Penny, great to hear from you again. Who knew so much would change in a month, scary times. It's best to take it one day at a time and try to keep to a routine as much as you can.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Morning, I have been reading diaries but not posting on mine, feeling overwhelmed and anxious at the moment which i'm sure is a feeling shared by many.
My grandma was rushed into hospital with serious stomach pains (not CV related), she is in her 80s and all alone, no one is aloud to go in and visit which is totally the right thing in the current situation, but she must be so scared and she has to have surgery and the thought of no one being able to say goodbye if anything goes wrong is unbearable, just trying to keep busy and not think too much.
DD and DS seem to be coping pretty well, DD still has to see to her horse so that keeps her busy, we are lucky that he is not in a livery yard and is in a stable in his own field. DS has turned the sun room into his own gym and goes out once a day for a run or on his bike, we are very fortunate to live in the middle of nowhere and can walk the dog without seeing a soul.
Foodwise we are eating from the cupboards and freezer, DH did a top up shop at the weekend and we can get a delivery of fruit, veg, bread and dairy items from a local farm shop, just need to ring up and order and pay over the phone, they will deliver once a week and leave items on the back porch so no contact. Tonight we are having garlic chicken, rst spuds and veggies and will make a syrup sponge as opened a carton of custard on Saturday which needs using up. Chickens are currently laying us around 2-3 eggs a day which is really helpful, we were wanting to get a couple more chickens but that's going to have to wait I think as i'm not sure if we can buy them at the moment or if farm auctions are still going ahead.
DH is a farm manager and still going into work, for him things havn't really changed, he works long hours and can go weeks without going into town, I don't think he had quite understood how different the world was until he went to do a food top up shop at the weekend and was quite shocked, I think he was quite glad to get back home and back in his bubble.
Hope everyone is keeping safe xx

Good to hear from you Penny. I think we're all feeling overwhelmed and anxious right now, it's the uncertainty of it all and the fear of catching the virus. I'm sorry to hear about your grandma it must be so frightening for her. Hope she gets well soon.
I was like your DH, I hadn't been out of the house for a week when I ventured out on Saturday and was shocked how awful it all was, it upset me to be honest.
Take care and stay safe (and sane) xx

Thanks for popping by ladies, grandma is comfortable and we are just taking it 1 day at a time.
Payday today and transferred £106 of overtime straight into savings, couple of DD have gone out, I usually go and do a huge shop on payday so feels quite strange staying at home.
Going to make hashbrowns for tea tonight will have them with some bacon and mushrooms, we are getting low on butter just hope they manage to deliver some with my veg box order this week, otherwise I will have to go to a shop which I really don't want to do.
Cleaned the bathroom, put a load of washing on and hung it out, tidied the kitchen and need to hoover through but going to leave it until after lunch.
Keep safe xx

Afternoon, been for a dog walk, did have a chat with a local farmer but he stayed on his tractor and I kept a safe distance, nice to talk to someone different than the kids and hubby, did have a chat with my cousin on the phone this morning as well, feels nice to talk.
DH decided to chop up a pile of wood that he brought home from work on Friday, found 7 eggs hidden behind it all, wondered where one of the chucks had been laying, so they will come in useful. Fruit and veg box has been delivered along with 2 loaves of very nice bakery bread and 2 packs of butter, so should be ok for shopping now for the week.
