Hope ds managed to still have a good birthday, it was my brother's yesterday and he was celebrating by having a fry up! I truly think we have parallel lives, we had a lovely veg box delivered the other day, I fancied chippy fish & chips and guess what we've got for tea - yep burgers! Just making some rolls for them now!
Managed to drag dh out for a walk this afternoon, he's a bit down as he thinks redundancies are on the cards. Definitely need to get the fresh air whilst we can.

  • I love reading and always have a book on the go but since this virus business I've really struggled to get into it.  I find I'm reading the pages but not taking anything in or re-reading the same page.  Lots of others have said the same.

I'm definitely struggling to concentrate and focus on things, this week is Easter hols for me and usually I can chill out, read and gets some much needed R&R but I just cannot settle.

Hi Huggle, DS birthday is this weekend coming, he is very chilled about it, its just me that feels guilty.
Parrallel lives made me smile, i'm finding that everything revolves around food at the moment.
Hope everything works out ok for your DH and he's not made redundant.
    Keep safe xx
  • Morning, ended up in a complete funk last night was ratty and could not settle, managed 2 pages of my book before it was flung to one side, decided I would do some Easter crafts instead, so after mooching on pinterest  I found some ideas, made some little rabbits and made mini pom pom tails for them, a pom pom sheep, and some eggs made from old birthday cards that I weaved more coloured card through to get a basket effect, added ribbon to all, then went and chopped some branches off the hedge stuck them in a vase and hung the bits and pieces off them, have to say it looks cute (as in a 4 yr old has made it) but its brightened up the dining room and made me feel happy.
Delivery from farm shop and butchers coming today, managed to spend £120 with the butchers but does include steaks for DS birthday tea, a huge gammon joint and lots of other yummy bits to go in the freezer, also managed to get DS/DH their pork pies that I couldn't get the other day.
Finances done, some surveys done and everything is ticking along.
Its a beautiful sunny day so washing has been hung out and 2nd load is in the washing machine, need to hoover through downstairs as doggo is sheading so there is white hairs everywhere.

Lasagne for tea tonight, although can't start sauce until butcher have delivered mince, DD found a tin of condensed milk last night in the baking cupboard and has made some millionaire shortbread nom nom, must make a fruit salad today to try and stop me snacking on rubbish.

    have a good day xx
