  • Morning.
Yesterday felt much better, spoke to hospital and gran is doing well, so feeling less stressed about that.
Lots of cooking yesterday, DD made chocolate brownies, I made HM flatbreads, kofta and salad for tea, was delicious and i'm loving having time to cook, the flatbreads were so easy to make and will definitely be making them again, used a Jamie Oliver's recipe and cooked them in the griddle pan, nom nom.
    Take care xx

  • Evening, thought I was doing well today, had a chilled out day watching movies with DD snuggled under blankets and tuned out, made the fatal mistake of watching the news this evening and ended up in tears.
DH has agreed to go and get my prescription tomorrow, I think because he is going to work everyday he is coping better than me.
In more positive news I have paid £60 off CC, took dog for a walk up the lane and saw several ducks and a squirrel, lambs are growing fast and are looking strong and healthy, the  sunshine is doing them good.
Tea tonight was spag bol, trying to eat smaller potions as conscious waistline is increasing which will be no good for the purse strings if I have to buy new clothes once we are back at work.

    Hi penny,

I thought I’d pop by and see how you were doing.  This new forum is a pain and purse me off posting.

im enjoying reading about your life in the countryside and how the current situation is.  I live in London, so we have different challenges.

Am pleased to read your Nan is on the mend.
  • Hi Chanie, thanks for popping in and reading although most of it is waffle :D , I agree about the forum not sure why it had to be messed around with so much.

I was excited to see the new forum and was hoping for some much needed improvements.  I still struggle to get onto the site on my ipad and iphone (although android seems to be fine).

I'm now trying to do your job and teach my children, whilst working from home. I don't know how you cope with 30 - I'm struggling with 2!!!

To be honest I have always found other peoples children easier to teach than my own, only advice I will give is make whatever your teaching fun and not worry about it being like school, for example maths could be building 3 d shapes out of paper (google for printable templates)or cutting 2d shapes to make a picture, playing shops with things out of the cupboards put prices on age appropriate to be added up. English could be watching a cartoon youtube clip and them having to write what happens next or how the person was feeling, rewrite a traditional tale so instead of Goldilocks and the 3 bears it could be goldilocks and the 3 pirates/unicorns. Life skills is also important, do they know how to make a 999 call and what their address is get them to act it out, learn to tie shoelaces, tell the time, make cakes, build dens, junk model, you probably know all this already :) .

Good to hear your gran is feeling better.  One good thing coming out of this is all the trying new recipes, I'm loving the Jamie Oliver programmes right now, getting some inspiration.
