  • Morning.
I have hit the mid month slump where nothing much is happening moneywise. Small top up in lidl £5.25 spent yesterday, I managed to get home from work on time and got a few jobs done, pottered in the garden and completed a few surveys.

I have been playing with the mortgage overpayment calculator, we currently have a SO to pay an extra £100 that goes out on DH payday so we don't really notice it, If we could find an extra £200 a month the mortgage would be paid off in 6 years which would be DH 50th birthday. I need to sit down with DH at the weekend and look at finances, I'm not sure its possible with DD heading to UNI in September, but then if we don't try we will never know.

    Have a good day xx

Ooh I love and hate the overpayment calculator, love it because it's amazing how much interest can be saved and get rid of the biggest debt but hate it because you have to look at it realistically and family things/house things etc. take precedence over the mortgage. I might have a sneaky look again when I am debt free.

Hope your week is going well.

  • Morning.
I thought i would be a good idea to sit in the kitchen with the sun streaming in and catch up on surveys, only downside is food is easily accessible and i've eaten half a box of  cherry bakewells and now feel sick.

DH has taken DS off into town to get a few bits he needs for his school residential trip up to the lakes, so 5 days without DS, I will miss him but i'm also jumping for joy as my fridge might stay full a bit longer and the grocery bill for the week will be less :) .

No Finance news, everything is ticking along. Rent money usually goes in on the 19th but as its a Saturday it won't be showing until Monday and then i can do a money shuffle. This weeks overtime has been claimed although i won't actually get paid it until end of July.

Boots order done needed a couple of birthday presents for friends and some suntan cream and some mascara, managed to get £5 off a £15 spend on No7, free no7 summer beauty gift set, free water bottle and 1000 extra points, did spend £35 but seem to have got a lot for my money and some bonus items.

Plans for today are pottering in the garden, washing, ironing and reading my book.

    Have a great day xx

When does ds go on his trip? Hope he has a lovely time.

Good savings on the shopping, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Evening all.

    Huggle - DS goes tomorrow.

So today I started the day with a 2 mile walk, was a beautiful morning and a great way to start the day.
Then i went to visit my Grandma, who decided that whilst i was there to help that it would be a good idea to start emptying cupboards and drawers which resulted in a bin bag of clothes for the charity shop, a pile of paperwork for the fire pit and i have been given 6 glass dishes in various sizes mainly trifle/fruit bowls, a roasting tin, pudding basin, milk jug, baking tray, 3 storage jars,2 plastic microwavable bowls with lids that are perfect for work lunches, a clock radio which is brand new and a bag of frozen scampi.
Came home and have made kiev, wedges and salad for tea (DH father's day request), 2 loads of washing and taken doggo for another walk. Just need to get my work things ready and then i can relax for the evening.
  • Morning all.

Had a chat with DH at the weekend regarding OP to mortgage, he thinks its a good idea but we have some expensive times ahead with DD going to Uni so doesn't want to set anything in stone, just continue to overpay any bits we can for the time being.

Late home last night night so apart from tea and walking doggo not a lot got done, house is very quiet without DS although he has already text me to complain about the food  :D.
Rent came in so a money shuffle has been done, £90 to CC and some other bills paid. £15 into account this morning from a survey site which has gone straight into savings.
DD made choc cupcakes yesterday which are divine but i must resist as my work trousers felt snug yesterday, must try and up the walking especially once the school holidays start. Chicken out for tonight's tea but not sure what i'm doing with it.

    Have a great day xx

    Evening all.

Home from work on time this evening, so have managed to make tea chicken biryani, walk  doggo, hang out a load of washing and put another lot on to wash and unload/load the dishwasher. Just over 12000 steps today so far would like to hit 14000 by bedtime though.
Received a £5 amazon voucher from a survey site which made £30 in my amazon account but decided i better order doggo food, £42 for a 15kg bag which will last her 3 months but only paid £12 in actual money  :).
Also £20 of fuel put in the car today and £20 sponsership money for  friend who is doing a charity doggo walk.
