  • Morning, hope everyone is ok.

Weekend seems to be running away and i havn't really got much done. Yesterday I went and did an Early morning food shop in lidl, £80 spent and i managed to get 2 £1.50 fruit/veg boxes they had loads so i didn't feel greedy taking 2 and was super impressed when i opened then as between them i got
    2 large boxes mushrooms
    2 packs basil
    4 round peaches
    3 flat peaches
    3 oranges
    3 apples
    1 pomegranate
    2 tubs blackberries
    4 corn on the cob
red and an orange bell pepper
    8 mini sweet peppers
    3 packs brocolli

The round peaches and blackberries were a bit past there best but still edible so i have stewed those up with some strawberries that were lurking in the fridge and stated to go a bit mushy and some rhubarb out of the garden and have made 3 tubs of fruit compote, 2 have gone in the freezer and the other i will use with overnight oats for brekkie this week, 1 pack of the mushroom i made into creamy garlic mushrooms which we ate for lunch yesterday with some fresh crusty bread. Also used some of the mushrooms and basil in bolognaise sauce half of which has also gone in the freezer. Also managed to collect a dish of strawberries from the garden and salad leaves, only 2 eggs from the chucks as 3 are broody at the moment so not laying.
I also nipped into M&S as i had a shirt to return whilst there i stocked up on some yummy treats, a few whoopsied item, percy pigs and some southern fried chicken for DS, spent £35 but used a £20 gift voucher so only £15 in real money. I still have 3 x £5 vouchers to use during the summer hols for top up shops. So spent £95 this week on groceries so £5 gone to savings pot.
Got home to parcel which was a anti perspirant to test, think its the holy bird brand.I have also sold an item on ebay so that will be another £5 once it hits bank account.

    Jobs for today -
    wrap ebay parcel
    list 2 items
    sweep& mop downstairs
    work clothes for the week
    quick wipe over the bathroom
    do LFT for work
    walk doggo
try and put overtime in (website down yesterday)

    Have a great Sunday xx

  • Morning.
Last couple of weeks seem to have flown by in a blur, work has been crazy, emotional and fun all at the same time.

Life has also been eventful, my gran is seriously ill and it's just a waiting game now, this has hit me hard she has always been so strong and full of life. She is still at home and insisting that she will stay there, we are just going with what she wants.
Witnessed a road traffic accident close to home, it's such a busy fast road and a car pulled out in front of a motorbike. DS was fantastic calling the ambulance and directing traffic whilst i stayed with the biker, luckily the guy was ok except for cuts, bruises and broken leg, it could have been so much worse.

Savings have taken a hit thanks to both the hoover and the dishwasher going kaput, both have been replaced so now need to build the emergency fund back up.

£100 paid off CC this morning and have withdrawn £25 from 1poll. Trying to keep plodding with the surveys as i'm off work and not really going anywhere, still feeling uncomfortable about being around to many people, i was ok at work as we had our bubbles and taking LFT twice a week, but just mixing with random people out and about makes me feel on edge so i'm going to just enjoy my garden especially as the weather is glorious and go for walks in less touristy areas.

Plans for today are to nip to PO to send an ebay parcel, need some fuel and then i'm going to try and sort the dining room out as it has become a dumping ground the last 2 weeks, especially as we have been eating outside so i've not been tidying the table daily so a good sort out is needed, I wont walk the dog until later this evening as it's too hot for her. Rest of the day will be spent pottering in the garden, I also have a chicken to roast for tea which we will have with salad and couscous.

    Have a great day xx

Sorry to hear about your Nan, also to witness the accident. Well done to you and dh for managing the situation.

I hope you've had a better couple of days.

  • Afternoon all

Gosh it's been hot and i don't seem to have got a huge amount done, just been pottering in the garden and sitting in the sunshine reading, weather is supposed to turn after today so i might get some inside jobs done.

Finances are ticking along, made £16 on ebay this week so have sent that to CC, small top up shop in m&S yesterday used a £5 gift voucher and spent £6 in actual money. It's the end of the month slump and waiting for payday on Friday when i can do some money shuffling.

DH is off work this week, yesterday we did some jobs in the garden and this morning we got up early and took the dog on a 7Km walk before it got to hot for her, then stopped at a cafe on the way home for a bacon butty and much needed cup of tea. Dog is now flaked out asleep and i wish i could join her.

  • Afternoon

Busy day yesterday painting the kitchen, looks a lot brighter and cleaner. Went to Dunelm today to try and find a new blind but nothing i liked so will keep looking.

Finances are ticking along, tomorrow is payday and i need to put 2 new tyres on my car, I have had a couple of sales on ebay £17 which will get sent to CC once it hits bank account, I have received a £5 amazon voucher and redeemed £25 from a survey site. Payslip is showing online and there is about £200 in overtime this is going straight into savings, saving £100 this month on school lunches for DS so this is going straight off the mortgage.
I've broken extra money down into different areas, Overtime goes straight into saving, money made from ebay/surveys goes to CC and money saved that has been allocated to something but i've made a saving or its not needed goes to mortgage. probably doesn't make much sense to most people but it works in my head.

Went out for lunch today with DH as i had some gift vouchers to use, lovely lunch and only had to add £4 in actual cash. Easy tea tonight probably eggs on toast as DH and DS are both out, so just me a DD.
