£8.65 return to Brentwood, £7.85 to Ware. A bit over one month's interest, so definitely interesting! TY - and to tg99
Scenic route: While you are here, take a walk along the towpath (opposite Saracens Head) past the famous Ware Gazebos then walk along the foot bridge past Police station and stop outside library and turn right and walk to Saffron BS.

Minimum balance is £50, so the available balance is always £50 lower than the current balance.

    Thanks, all makes sense now.
  • Just a reminder in case you are using any of these accounts and forgot to diarise the dates of interest rate/benefit changes:

    1. TSB Classic Plus current account: interest rate changes to 3% on balances up to £1500 today (4th Jan) - it was previously 5% on balances up to £2000. Minimum monthly credit of £500 still applies, and you still need to register for online banking and opt in to paperless statements and correspondence to qualify.

    2. Club Lloyds current account: interest rate changes to a flat rate of 2% on balances up to £5000 from 8th Jan - it has tiered rates until then, the highest being 4% on balances between £4000 & £5000. You'll still need to pay out two direct debits from the account each month to receive interest, and you will still need to credit £1500 per month into the account to avoid the monthly fee. The monthly fee is however being reduced from £5/month to £3/month, for fees taken from the account from 2nd Feb.

    3. Halifax Reward: the monthly reward reduces from £5/month to £3/month for the first reward payment made after 1st Feb. You still need to credit £750/month and pay out two direct debits per month and stay in credit at the end of each day - for the whole month - to qualify,

Understand the 2% Reg Saver 2 closes for new applicants on the 4th January and a new Regular saver 3 will be available on the 5th.

Don't know what happens to existing Reg Saver 2 holders or what the % on Reg Saver 3 is yet.

RS2 has overnight been pulled. No sign of RS3 details yet.

I was in branch yesterday and they told me 1.5% on £500 PCM out today.
Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?

Confirmation of the 500 per month and 1.5% rate. Note that the Product Info link has errors as it appears to have been copied from a previous £250 RS2 product.

Not much point in moving money from Santander for that!

The Tiger RS seems to be ongoing and I'm off to my nearest branch today to open one.
