    Indeed they do ;)

When I spoke to the manageress of my local branch recently, she said they weren't sure if they will offer another Regular ISA for the next tax year due to the Cash ISA allowance increase to £20K.

She also said Head office were reluctant to offer 3% for the current Regular ISA and had wanted to offer only 2.5% but some branch managers persuaded them to increase it by 0.5%. That's why it was launched at the last minute.

She also said head office are happy to continue to offer the Child regular/Adult Regular at the current rate because it generates a relatively small amount of interest.

I've had one of these for the past few years and monitored very closely and they've launched within days of each other.

Probably best to discuss on the mini cash ISA thread though where I look forward to having my annual 'Regular Cash ISA discussion' with Colsten at the end of each March.

  • Hi

Trying to make online payment to virgin branch regular saver from Santander but it doesn't like the dash in my account number for the payment ref. I'm sure when I opened it they said the dash had to be included.

    Any advise please.

Your actual account number (including dash) is to be entered in the Reference field.

The Branch that you opened the account should have given you a sort code and 'their' account number .. this is the one to enter as account number.

I'm in London for a few days this month and it occurred to me that it might be an opportunity to open one of these branch only regular savers like Kent Reliance or Saffron Walden. But sadly neither has a branch which is handy :(

The nearest Saffron BS branch to London is Brentwood which is only just outside London. It's on the train line from Liverpool Street.

Unfortunately Santander doesn't let you put a dash in the reference field either. I couldn't find a way round this and had to pay from a Nationwide account
  • Had no problems entering a dash in reference box when setting up standing order from Santander into Virginmoney branch regular saver.
    May be worth trying again

I was beginning to doubt my sanity there, but I've had another go and the answer is.....

Santander won't let you use special characters for faster payments, but they will for standing orders!

Or Ware branch might be closer if in north London.
