It's an offshore account and the IOM Depositors' Protection Scheme is not great - 75% of up to £20,000 - i.e. maximum compensation of £15,000.

Still only 75% of whatever you have there if it goes belly up (unlikely but still something to bear in mind).

    Hello,

just wanted to ask if its worth opening the Halifax International regular saver considering whats happening at the moment.

Will there be better rates in the coming weeks from Banks who want customers?

    thanks
  • Thanks for the info above, I have removed the Alliance & Leicester Premier Regular Saver. My time on this computer (in an internet cafe) is almost up. I will not be home this weekend but will update this thread next weekend.

    All the best,
