Have to go for now...

Hello everybody,
Thanks Speculator, I have added the information above on the Chorley Paid Up Share account to the Santa Saver entry.
I cannot see anything else to change this week so I shall wish you all a nice week and see you again next weekend!

HSBC have just announced they are replacing their standard HSBC Bank Account with two new (free) current accounts.
One of these options, the HSBC Current Account Advance reoffers the 8% Regular Saver account which HSBC originally withdraw ages ago..
The enhanced 10% Regular Saver option from HSBC is still available if you have a HSBC Premier, Bank Account Plus or Passport account.
Regards
Sunil

For both the 8% and 10% Regular Savers, customers are required to complete a salary or retirement income mandate. However, I think it is down to the staff member processing the application to check that such a mandate has been completed, so it may be possible to blag through that requirement (e.g. "I've already sent a mandate to my employer last week", etc). You don't need to already have the salary or equivalent coming into the account before applying for the appropriate version of the Regular Saver.0

Not much use to me then. You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0 -
Sorry LongTermLurker, I thought you were querying the terms of the 10% Regular Saver only, and already knew the requirements for the related "premium" current accounts.0

HSBC 8% (6.4% net) regular saver available when opening a new HSBC Current Account Advance.
I was visiting the bank today, and was made aware of the 8% regular saver linked to the new current account (which I was informed the current account was only introduced 01 September 2008)
The HSBC Current Advance Account is free, and you just got to credit £500 to it every month. (Im sure there are more T&Cs)0 -
Just rung them to double check as I was interested in the Regular Saver but you will have to have the £500 coming in from an external source. It cannot be from you funding it from your own current account say with Lloyds.0

Thanks for all the information above - I have updated the beginning of this thread with the details.
I shall be away from home next weekend so I shall update this thread again the weekend after.
