Ah Buffy, another thing for you to have to deal with. I’m so sorry things aren’t so great. Hopefully the focus on decorating might help a little

Buffy - have you tried a spray in the area that the dogs have had accidents inside? We have a spray that gets rid of the odour, which hopefully deters them from the same spot.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

badmemory said:I am sure I have said this before, but please stop beating yourself up over stuff. I have lived with teachers & know that most of them can do nothing the first 2 weeks of the summer holidays. Your colleagues may not tell you this as they are also feeling bad because they are not getting stuff done. A lot of them will have someone who will take up the slack but most don't. And don't get me started on Christmas if the end of term is too close to Xmas day. By the time I was 11 I hated Xmas.ETA use this holiday to get yourself to the drs & deal with the period stuff.

I know exactly how you feel, I see my FB friends doing things I want to do and can’t, it’s very upsetting. I try to say “well you can’t do that but you can do this…” Doesn’t always work though ☹️The kids haven’t broken up from school yet where I live, just think yourself lucky you don’t live here, they’ve only got 5 weeks off.
Every so often we have five weeks here. It feels like such a lossNevertheless she persisted.1 -

It was so gross, when the conservatory got soaked in the rain the water was turning brownas I presume the wee has soaked into the underlay underneath? It was still turning brown when I washed it again this morning. It must have been happening a lot longer than I realised.
Anyhow after my extra long nap I sat with the buns. I walked the poor dogs! Cleaned the kitchen again, made dinner, actually my fish finger sandwich was lush and Mum ate her fish fingers and chips very happily!
Advice about the rabbits is not to bond my house bun with the outside buns, as he is ill they might bully him, that means small bun should be moved outside. I am so sad, bless her she was a big mistake! even if she does weigh less than two pounds.
Watching a really creepy Silent Witness..... v distracting.

Is the conservatory carpeted? If so bin it and get some Lino down instead. Much easier to clean and one less thing to worry about if they do continue to pee on it. Maybe get a dog flap installed too?

I might ponder lino - cleaning accidents in the kitchen is much easier and doesn't appear to smell. I wish you could just lay it on top of the existing floor! (can you..?)

Buffy , i can empathise with you on living with someone whose standards/expectations are below your own in terms of surroundings as my mum sounds very similar , she has also had health problems including mental health issues for as long as I have been back home. Shes now sadly terminally ill so can do very little but the pressure on myself rather then my sibling is ten fold.
We too had dogs , dogs who would just pee or poop wherever they pleased , my mum didnt seem to care and even now 2 years after the dogs are no more I am still finding evidence of them as I clear clutter.
It is tough , its more then tough when you long for your own pristine and welcoming living space yet its out of reach. Hang in there , it won't be forever even though it feels like it at the moment.
Very few of my friends know that I have not even bathed in this house for over 3 years as the state of the bathroom just gets me down too much , now I have the means to rip it out and replace it which is the only way it can be improved I can't help workmen in doing it with mums health as it is.
i've got by by begging showers at the few friends that do know , using the one at the gym , paying for aqua aerobics just to have a shower and not do the class and now I have a key to my bf's who luckily is 20 minutes away I often dash there for a wash.
Some of the things I've encountered and put up with other the years i've been home make me realise I'm much more tolerant and stronger then I ever thought possible , Had i known what I was letting myself in for when I chose to come home rather then pay out for private rent I would never have come home and now I'm here I'm pretty much stuck
Focus on the things that make you smile and the things that you enjoy , try and make your own living space as lovely as you can and focus on spending as much time in there as you can !!
