Glad the whipped cream worked GTQ. Wouldn't have been very :money: if it hadn't worked and was no good. That's a good afternoon's takings for your charity.

Have just got everything prepped for tonight's dinner. Doesn't need to go on for about another half hour and then hopefully everything will be ready for about 6 o'clock.

  • Feeling back in control here which puts a smile on my face :). Even though OH is away, have been on plan and recording my food, all good. Have 53 syns left for today and Monday! My week starts on a Tuesday when I get weighed :o. I will use a few more syns on 2 Mullers but that will probably be it, so expecting a loss Tuesday ;). Just done another food shop for some fresh stuff, and again resisted temptation to chuck rubbish into the trolley, yay :D. Also with OH away, doing all the dogwalks, so this week’s stepcount will be up too.

Another one here who uses masking tape for the freezer, it is a brilliant find! Just frozen one of the kebab loaves, never going to eat it all on my own. And I have rediscovered grape nuts to make a yummy pud, very simple but love it. I start with a short wide glass. Few tbs of plain yogurt to cover bottom. Then 20g of grapenuts = 0.5HEb. Then some frozen berries to cover. Another layer of yogurt. And then to finish I added half a banana&custard Muller on top. And left the whole thing in the fridge for a few hours so the grape nuts go all cakey, love it!

Off to bingewatch another boxset on TV whilst it is just me on this gloomy Sunday. Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone :).

That sounds a bit like overnight oats but using grape nuts instead. Sounds good.

I've just been given a l fruit sorbet recipe which I intend trying next week. Absolutely easy by the looks of it and doesn't need an ice cream maker to do it. Freezes ready to eat in 20 minutes so think that's going to be next Sunday's pudding.

Do let us know how the mustard cabbage goes Denise . It sounds ideal for gammon. :)

I've prepped the tartlets, just need to add egg. I was chopping some YS leeks for the freezer so added some of that along with mushrooms, peppers and baby sweetcorn. :)

The mustard cabbage wasn't particularly successful. The cabbage was OK but definitely couldn't taste the mustard. Won't be bothering with it again as it's quite time consuming chopping it all up separately. Will just cook it in the normal way in future. DH complained it wasn't cooked enough though!

Won't be wasting syns on the marmalade rice pudding either. It was OK but not worth HEA + 5 syns. Definitely worth making a normal rice pudding but with Almond milk! As that is just HEA so a nice pudding if you decide you want a pudding. We don't have pudding very often but just occasionally fancy one. Having said that have decided I'm going to make the lemon sorbet for pudding next weekend as I've got DD2 and her partner coming for dinner but don't know yet whether that will be Saturday or Sunday.

Same herebubbs and really enjoyed it. It's the first time this year for us since turkey at Christmas.

Shame about the new recipes Denise but at least you tried. We almost never have puddings except when DH has one in a restaurant or when we have guests and I feel obliged to offer 2 or 3 courses. Then I generally do Eton Mess with a choice of cream or Greek yogurt or a cheeseboard. :)
