Evening all
Denise, but i need my sister to take me, but luckily we are at her house anyway, otherwise don't think she would be able too else she would have to leave hers about 5.30 to come and fetch me, it's alot when she has the dogs to sort out before work and then go and work for a day, until i want collecting.
I would have thought chicken from the chippy was synned as they deep fry it? I know fish is free without the batter but thats "protecting" the fish IYKNWIM?
No it was baked and I removed the skin as well. Just wish it hadn't been overcooked and dry.

Worst feeling ever!
Hope you're feeling better soon TIE!
Freezer Surprise turned out to be a sausage stew - non-SW sausages but the portion only contained about one so added four syns to the day for that. I'm normally v good at labelling and dating stuff in freezer bags but this was in a box and I remember putting it in thinking "I'll definitely remember what this is"The masking tape is a good call though, I'll dig some out and put it in the kitchen drawer.
Chieveley looks like you may be SOTW as I only managed a half pound loss yesterday :T Pretty pleased with that though - I've been tracking my weight so long now that I can look back over them all, and this is the lowest I've been since June 2019, and if I can lose just a pound next week that'll be my lowest since the end of 2017 - great motivation! It's also interesting to look back on the months where I've been really focused and can see three losses and a gain, over and over - so my monthly cycle definitely seems to have an impact.
I wonder if all the gains are down to Blue Monday as someone mentioned? I also saw somewhere that 18th January is when we're most likely to give up on our resolutions so maybe a bit of that as well?
The weekend has been a bit of a write-off so far. Had my hair done on Friday night, I had kindly been squeezed in as found out we're having photos taken at work on Monday, so she just did a colour and a wet cut but when I got home and dried it, it was so dark it made me look ill so I had to go back yesterday and get it re-done. Then went to visit grandma who had called out the community nurses so waited around for them, who eventually came and advised we call 111, so did that and ended up with a 6.30 appointment in urgent care. All is OK but I was so hungry and fed up by the time we got back that I confess I ended up in the Chinese takeaway, and not for the chicken in black bean sauce with boiled rice either
Ah well I've cancelled my plans for today because I just need a day to potter in the house and do some batch cooking, so that will set me up well for the week. I'm doing 2CC chicken and chorizo jambalaya and the ham and pineapple pasta bake, as well as roasting some veg to have for packed lunches. I got a bag of kale so I can try out Bubbs' crispy 'seaweed' recipe
First thoughts on flipping through the 2CC book: all the recipes I most fancy making are the ones that are available on their website (the book contains 10 website 'classics' and 90 new recipes) so that's a bit annoying, and also many of them don't necessarily seem very speed-heavy so that's something to bear in mind as well, though they mostly seem to be free. There is no reference to SW (just 'slimming clubs') so you won't find any syn values but I knew that in advance.
Right I've prattled on enough, off to do some housework. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Well done on the loss Tete, may have only been a half but it's in the right direction - better than the other way!
What a shame the 2CC book hasn't got many new recipes in it. Not surprised there are no syn values in it, the same as the PON recipe books and website.
To be honest I actually prefer the Slimmingeats website to either on the British ones (although she is British but living in Canada and did SW before moving there I think).
I had a look at my Syns so far this week and have actually been under 15 syns each day, which is probably a first! I didn't even have all 3 planned rums last night (think that's probably another first, LOL!).
Today's plan:
B - SW fry up - sausages 2; egg; mushrooms, tomatoes, beans - P; S; F
L - LO tuna and sweetcorn quiche, chips, salad - P; S; F
D - Boiled gammon, potatoes, carrots, mustard cabbage, gravy using cooking stock thickened with cornflour - P; F; S; 0.5. Followed by marmalade rice pudding - F; 5 syns; HEA2
S - Ryvita & cheese triangles - 0.5 HEB + 2; Hifi bar 0.5 HEB
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - milk
HEB - 2 Ryvita + hifi bar
Syns - sausages 2; cornflour 0.5; marmalade 5.5; 2 Laughing Cow Extra Light cheese triangles 2

Well to be fair there are plenty of new recipes, it's just that all the most interesting ones seem to be from the website.
I do sometimes find recipes on slimmingeats (the Austrian hash I think?) but never seek her out specifically, maybe I should start.
How do you make your mustard cabbage Denise?
I didn't manage to find any beetroot wraps yesterday but I got the ordinary WW ones, I'm going to do a ham and mushroom 'pizza' for lunch I thinkWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

I often look through the SW recipe books at group while I'm waiting for the Image Therapy to start but I'm not tempted to buy any. My experience with many SW recipes is that the sauces can be watery. There are so many ideas online and I like to adapt 'normal' recipes too. The freebie magazines that they do in some supermarkets can be good. There's a veggie cottage pie recipe in the current Tesco book, using beans instead of mince that I intend to try.
I'm going to make some more little quiches/tartlets today while the oven's on.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit (F), HEB toast, HEA milk, kippers (P)
L: ham (P), fried mash (F,S), beetroot (S)roast chicken (P), SW roast potatoes, LM stuffing balls (F), cauli, broccoli, cabbage, kale, swede & carrot mash (S)
Syns: kippers 1.5, HM gravy 4?, wine syns????0 -
The mustard cabbage is an adaptation of a JO recipe which my consultant posted on our Facebook page. I haven't seen the actual JO recipe it's adapted from myself and admittedly I haven't even looked!
Remove stalks from cabbage leaves and slice thinly. Shred the leaves. Keep separate.
Heat a wok and spray with Frylight. Add the stalks and stir fry for a couple of minutes. Add a splash of water and then the shredded cabbage. Make up a some dried mustard powder - 1 tsp of powder to 1 Tbs of water and add to the cabbage and keep stir frying for another few minutes. Add additional water if necessary. Once it starts to char a bit it will be ready to serve.
Have to admit I haven't actually tried it yet but going to this evening alongside the boiled gammon, potatoes & carrots.
I'm also making a marmalade rice pudding which someone from my group posted this morning on our Facebook page as well. Had to google the recipe as I haven't got the book it's in and no idea which one it is. It's fairly high syn at 5 per portion (but that's because we're greedy and have half each! rather than the supposed 1/4 for a portion). The recipe uses reduced sugar marmalade but I haven't got any and will be using the marmalade I made for DH last week. Probably not having a drink tonight so plenty of syns available.

As I couldn't park the car near the door last night and had no desire or intention of emptying everything out of it, (china is not light!) had to wait until this morning to see how much we made, a tad over £200, not too shabby for a January afternoon. And whipping the double cream worked out perfectly, I was happy, as were all of those who had full tums & takeaways when they left.
Today is all about trying to sort out packing for my Egypt trip. Only going for weekend so my luggage is hand luggage, packing 2 cases of more appropriate clothing for -30 in Winnipeg as against 15-20 in Egypt:rotfl::rotfl:. Cases light, but even with vacpacking, winter clothing is bulkiy:D
Now of to meal plan & ironing, have a good week everyone.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
