That's done and dusted with instant mash! :D I'll definitely make it again as it's lush. :)

Unusually I'm not going to a Burns' Night celebration tomorrow but I'd always assumed that the meal would be quite low syn. It's like a dry, savoury mince with swede and mash. But I looked up haggis on syns online and it's quite high syn. Will you be having any beanie ? :)

Glad you've got a date now bubbs. I've got to be at the hospital for 7am too but I'll need to leave even earlier than you! Hoping that because it's fairly early we'll get away with leaving about 5.45 as the traffic is likely to be a bit lighter at that time than having to get there at 9am like today.

I was thinking earlier that there seem to be a lot more gains than losses this week too! On my group's Facebook page there seems to be quite a few disappointed people but also quite a few very happy people, probably about 50/50 which is more gainers than usual.

Wow Beanie that freezer must be about 40 years old or more by now now! Wouldn't think it would be very efficient and probably using a lot more electric than a more modern one!

Maman when I do my KFC I just cut the thighs in half and sort of flatten them out but don't make them any thinner if that makes sense? I use the Iceland Food Warehouse quite often as we have one in the next town. I buy the large packs of boneless, skinless thighs and then bag the up myself in usable portions before freezing. Haven't actually seen frozen thighs only breasts, which are OK but much smaller than the ones I can buy from my butchers where one is big enough between us for something like a curry or sweet & sour where it's going to be chopped up. I also take the mini flillets off and bag them up, usually makes a couple of meals worth - these are also quite good for KFC.

Using my syns of G&T tonight so will probably have a couple of syns left to carry over to tomorrow night in case I decide to have wine instead of gin (which is likely to be the case as I don't think there's very much gin left now so will need to buy another bottle next time I go shopping - something else to put on my list!

    What are kebab loaves PIB?

It’s the Doner Kebab recipe from the SW website ;). I doubled the recipe and used small loaf tins, so ended up with several. I use some beef, some pork mince, and use more spices than the recipe to get a bit more flavour :D.

  • Involved in a charity afternoon tea fundraiser tomorrow so had to go to Costco after work, the syns:eek: Anyway, since I got home, I have made 2 cakes for the tea, sorted out the China etc for it,cooked a stir-fry, done a bit of tidying up, made my overnight oats so I keep out of temptation tomorrow, need to think about lunch, may just take some fruit & yoghurt, got a load of washing in dryer, got another on timer in washing machine so that it will be ready to go in dryer when I get up tomorrow morning, need to sort out my homeless packs, then time to relax;)

Hit a snag with the clotted cream, there was only one tub left, had no choice but to buy 2pts of double cream, which will have to do if I can't find any in Tesco, does anyone know if that will work?
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Like the sound of those kebab loaves PIB. Will have to get a mini loaf tin. I've seen some on Ama*on which have been on my wish list for a while but haven't actually got round to buying them yet. I've got a couple of meatloaf recipes I want to try in them. They're low syn as the recipe makes 8 mini loaves and only uses one slice of wholemeal bread to bind. When I was looking just now for the recipe I found that there is a new recipe for chicken meatloaf so need to have a look at that one too. Both on the SlimmingEats website.

What do you want to use the cream for GTQ? If it's for something like topping scones then as long as it's whisked so it's really thick it will probably work but definitely needs to be thick.
