  • Fingers crossed for you Denise!

Yikes to 14 weeks til Easter - only 14 weeks to avoid the Creme Eggs then
    )

My birthday that weekend, what are my chances of losing 1st for it:huh:

Hope it went well Denise, I need a bit of encouragement for mine this evening, although I did realise when I was driving in to work that this was only a 6 day week for us as last week we weighed on Friday:D

Well done on your loss sary. 2.5lbs is impressive!:T That could be 2.5 stone off by Easter. If only SW was that simple. :D

Welcome back tete and arkers. You've done so well to maintain over the Christmas period arkers. :T

Do you know what derails you tete? :)

Hope you got what you wanted denise and good luck for later gtq.:)

I'm planning to go to WI next Thursday. Probably not enough time to lose any Christmas gain but I feel good and I'm hoping for a good week ahead. I've arranged to go for lunch with a friend on Monday. She's chosen a caf! which I've not been to before so I may have to plan around that. Anyhow, bank full with 105 syns today. :)

    Toady's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit (F), bacon, scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA1 milk
L: lentil and veg soup (P,S)
D: SW Bolognese (P,S) with tagliatelle (F) and HEA2 Parmesan
    Syns: HP sauce 1

It's certainly a realistic target to aim for!

Yeah, it's a combination of buying sw-friendly treats (like Skips) and not being able to stop at just one, and wanting to binge eat at the first sign of any little stress. That's a habit I got into when I was teaching and constantly under high levels of stress, but also had no time to do anything nice like read or watch TV, so I ate to feel better as it was the only thing I could do at the same time as marking books and planning lessons. I've had a lot of stress since leaving teaching (bereavement, horrible bosses, unemployment) so it's been hard to kick that habit, but I'm feeling so much better about things now. Job is good, colleagues are nice, I'm finally getting over my injuries and able to make progress with my running... So it should all be plain sailing this time ;)

Sorry that turned into an essay/counselling session :o Anyway, I'm certainly going to be a lot stricter about not having treats in the house as I just can't be trusted!

Thanks everyone - I'm really happy as I got a 1.5lb loss! I was certainly extremely shocked as wasn't even sure I was going to get the pesky half! So it's onwards and downwards. Got 2lb to bang on target and 5lb to bottom end. Certainly doable if I can just stop eating the pate and Purple Ones - thankfully they should all be gone in a week or two! I'm not away again on holiday until beginning of March so would really like to be bottom end by then, or certainly in the bottom half of range!

You can certainly lose a stone by Easter GTQ, that's lb a week so definitely achievable.

Glad things are getting better for you Tete, which means that you're in the right mindset now.

    Today's plan:

    B - baked oats - after WI
L - onion soup (which we were supposed to have had yesterday!); cheesy crouton
D - mustard beef & mushrooms, mash (again what we were supposed to have yesterday!)

    HEA - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - oats
Syns - slice of WM bread 3; cornflour 0.5; wholegrain mustard 0.5 (1 tsp each)

At least by having what we were supposed to have yesterday today's original dinner can stay in the freezer! Bonus:D - a dinner for next month which I won't need to buy.

    Denise

    Well done Denise!!

Hmm yeah speaking of freezer dinners, I really need to make a list of what's in there so I have to buy as little fresh food as possible for the rest of the month... HOW many weeks til payday? STILL??

    Good afternoon everyone,

Thanks for the lovely welcome back by you friendly lot. I was quite surprised that I hadn't put more on over the Christmas period too. Maybe when I weigh on Saturday it might just be a STS as sometimes with me it can take a few weeks to get back to normal. I know it's not absolutely necessary, but I have also hit the gym with a vengeance over the last few weeks, so obviously that also helps me with my journey. Another factor is I also like the feel of being within my target range, so I just do my level best to remember that. This mindset has been my most powerful weapon in my arsenal. If I have a bad few days/weeks then I try and remind myself what I used to be like and for the most part I get back on plan sooner rather than later. I also try and be at the bottom of my target so that when I go on holiday I can just have exactly what I want when I want.

Another huge factor for me is controlling my alcohol intake. I am now totally in control of this and I cannot tell you what a difference this has made.

I'm no saint and I have "sod it days".....who doesn't, but having a cancer diagnosis this year made it so much more bearable knowing that I was a healthy weight and I'm sure helped with the treatment I received. I was glad to see the back of 2019, and I'm keeping everything crossed that I'll get the all clear in the months to come. In the meantime I'm glad to be back.

    Arkers x
