Off topic slightly but which supermarket for best value choice and healthy options? (In particular a supermarket that's reliable for delivering fruit and veg thats been picked for the best date, not bashed etc.) My delivery saver is about to expire and not sure whether to renew.

Is this a new food optimising book?

Not really, just different suggestions, but has 7 different ways of doing one thing, all in a small booklet, which is nice as there will be no repeat of a meal in a week if you like it. It also has warnings which highlights high syns. Good refresher.

Evening everyone, just caught up, not many reporting their loss for week one. :-( I was surprised by a loss of 1.5 lb's -got some aldi skinny sausages to try tomorrow, don't normally have sausage as I hate cooking them & seeing all the fat in the grill pan.

I think the problem might be that the chart is Wednesday to Tuesday rather than a normal week - Sunday to Saturday, which I think SW use.

It's WI tomorrow and just hoping I've lost that pesky half to put me back in target range although DH seems to have done his best to derail me this week!

    Evening,
Thanks for the chart Chieveley. Sorry I am a bit late reporting in with my loss this week. Will try to make sure I pop on earlier in the day if I can next week. Loss this week is -2.5lb. Happy with that, especially as I don't have big losses usually.:j

FlatEric - I've used Sainsbobs and MrT most recently. For Christmas and this week I used MrT (using a trial delivery pass :money:) . They promise to pick items with the longest shelf dates, and the fruit and veg I ordered was all good. HTH.

    Meal plan today:
    B - banana, quark protein yog (1)
snack - ham slices & tomato
L - porridge HEB, apple slices (1), sugar (1) milk from HEA & water
D - bacon, skinny chipolatas (1), mushrooms, tomato, beans, toast (6), spread (1) ketchup (1)

I forgot I'd already had my HEB at lunch, otherwise I'd have not had the toast with my dinner, but it's within syns, so not stressing.

Bubbs dinner looked lush as usual.

Nice to 'see' you Tete and Arkers :D

GTQ I love cinnamon on lots of things. I sprinkle it on plain toast with a scrape of spread/butter even. I have a little pot of it in my desk at work, that's how much I use it; porridge, yogurt etc. Just makes them a bit more special. Banana on toast with it is yum!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

It'll be the moment of truth in about an hour! Really hope I've lost that 0.5lb to get back into target range as definitely don't want to have to pay! But as I said yesterday DH has been derailing me with things like pate! Absolutely love it so find it too hard to resist. I know it's my own fault if I don't lose it as I could just have said NO but I didn't!

Good luck to anyone else weighing today.

  • Fingers crossed for you Denise!

Yikes to 14 weeks til Easter - only 14 weeks to avoid the Creme Eggs then

Chieveley please can I be included on the chart? It's my first WI of the year on Saturday so will be starting from week 2, but would like to aim for 10lb please (hoping I'll get a decent loss this week as first week back 'on it').

    Today:
    B - Banana
D - Pasta with pesto (2), bacon, onion, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes
T - Pork chop with mushrooms and courgette stir fried in soy sauce, maybe some potatoes as well if I'm very hungry but hoping to keep it light
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Almonds
    Syns - Pesto (2), sugar in coffee (4), Options hot chocolate (2) = 8

Have a good day all :)
