well done Sort bird 👏. I'm sorry re the job situation, difficult times at the moment.
Thanks for the reminder Izadora, I should definitely take my own advice 😏
Spring cleaning Blue Doggy 😲 that's a bit drastic 😁 I'm hoping to get some decluttering done as well 🙂 and I've decided to use the time to conquer crocheting as it keeps evading me and I'm determined no ball of wool and a hook is going to beat me again 😉.
I'm also a bit wheezy Frith I think the mild weather has fast tracked my hay fever this year, I'm checking my peak flow and it's still over 500, i was told it's good for a women of my age without being a overweight asthmatic 😏 and it's probably due to all the walking I do (it disappointed the asthma nurse as it cut short her weight lecture ) and I've up my preventative inhaler to be on the safe side

Morning All
Hoping you are all safe and well, I am checking in with a sts, am a little disappointed but we shall see next week.
Ds at home now and dd finishes today, feel awful for her as she was due to sit her GCSEs and now all exams have been cancelled, she has studied so hard and everything is just uncertain, all the normal things that she should be doing at school and with her friends in their final school year may not happen, I know it's more important for her to be safe but it's just so sad for them all.
I am off today but back to work tomorrow, I cannot fathom why we are so extremely busy, it is all so very stressful at the moment, I work in a high street bank and our neighbouring branch is closed due to staff members in self isolation , so we are busy anyway, but we also have 5 member of our branch off and the branch is heaving all day, everyday and we just cannot cope with the volume of customer, added to that they are changing the train timetable next week to run less trains, they were fighting outside the supermarket on my way in to work on Wednesday, it's like the world has gone mad.
Sorry to rant I'm just fed up.Any way, on the other side, so far we are all good here, we have enough food to keep us going for a couple of weeks.
Todays meals will be
B toast and fruit
L jacket pot
D have seen a sw recipe for chicken tikka pasta so shall try that with some salad.

Morning All,
short_bird Sorry, I missed the part of your post about your jobs. I hope everything resolves itself quickly for you.
Blue Doggy Good luck with the spring cleaning. I'm planning on doing the same as I figured that if I use the time I would normally spend commuting to do housework then the place is going to be sparkling by the time we're all allowed out again. Between the lack of socialising and the fact that hen's eggs are now more scarce than hen's teeth it looks like there's not going to be too much cake around for a while!
Frith Even if it doesn't feel like weight's shifting this week your menus have looked very healthy so I'm sure it'll be dropping of soon.
Brambling Even if you're a bit wheezy at least you know your peak flow's still good. It's always nice when you manage to stop a weight lecture in its tracks as well. Good luck with the crocheting. Also, your cat is beautiful. I promise I'm not a stalker, I saw your post on the Cooking for One thread. I tend to read but not post as it's got some really helpful tips but would feel a bit of a fraud as, even though we have completely different diets, I'm generally cooking for two.
Cranky Your not-allowed-on-the-table cat is beautiful too
Sirens Please don't apologise for having a rant. The world has definitely gone mad and being in a job where you have to deal with the general public must be stressful at the best of times so I can't imagine what it's like at the moment. Add the fact that you're understandably upset for you daughter and a STS is an amazing achievement. I know that it's pretty much impossible at the moment but try to relax today and I hope that work's not too hellish tomorrow.
I'm still utterly failing to come even close to dieting but am consoling myself with the fact that, at the rate I'm currently eating, the snacks will all be gone soon enough and then I'll have no choice but to eat healthy stuff
Stay safe and best of luck everyone xx5 -
Hello all,
I am - 1 lb this week.
I am also minus my job. I may have a clean house and tidy garden by the time I have to go back to work. I'm on unpaid leave and the boss has promised I'll be working again when things go back to normal (I work in a cafe).
Izadora, do come and post on the CFO thread. I do as most of the time the HT and I eat completely different things.
Brambling your peak flow is great. Mine is 400. There are lots of youtube videos to watch on crochet. This one is good and goes slowly enough to follow.

SIRENS your poor daughter must be so disappointed. I'm not sure that I believe the child on one of the news websites that said he was sad not to be taking his Sats though....
Take care all of you6 -

Well done Cranky, you've almost reached target 👏. Thanks for the link I've had a quick watch through and tomorrow I will fish out the hook and wool from my last attempt and try again 🙂 it will be a break from my mitred square knitted blanket. Sorry the job is on hold for the time being
Sirens rant away this is a safe place to do so 🙂 it must be difficult for your daughter and all kids of her age, my managers daughter was due to start her A levels and is waiting to here what next. Well done on the STS after a stressful week 👏
Izadora he's a handsome if not a grumpy boy but I'm bias, I second what Cranky said feel free to pop on over to the CFO thread we're a friendly bunch
looks like another healthy day meal wise Frith 🙂
I'm going to have to learn self discipline working from home full time it's easy to get side tracked with 'jobs' and food but having said that starting at 8am compensated for doing the washing. I did offer entertainment to my overseas colleagues chasing next door's young cat around the dining room and back out the catflap twice I forgot to put on mute before I started swearing at it 🙀 it was meant to be going away for a month when they determine if my neighbour and her daughter are allergic to it and it needs the ✂️ So causes issues with my boy
food wise today has involved less nibbles than yesterday 🙄
B - banana
L - half a bread roll with Shropshire blue cheese and tomato, pack of Pom bears
D - roast beefs, roast parsnips, carrot and swede mash and broccoli
S - boiled sweets and 2 finger kit katLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -
Hi everyone, sorry for being MIA but I have been freaking out about this virus and eating to try and calm down. I am very disappointed to have gained 4lb over the past couple of weeks but I am going to try my hardest to get a grip both on my eating and my anxieties. Both of my younger daughters have lost their jobs due to both working in restaurants, I am classed as vulnerable due to my health issues and to top it off, I can't see my mum tomorrow as she is isolating herself as she doesn't feel very well. It all seems a bit surreal at the moment. I am trying not to watch the news except for the 5pm briefing on BBC 1 but it is difficult as it is everywhere. Sorry for whinging but I am very upset, my so-called friend told me I was not likely to catch the virus as I had so much blubber to protect me! I suppose it is another reason to lose weight as I object a lot to being compared to a whale. Hope you all are ok xx7

Your so called "friend" is very rude Dumpling hugsI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.7 -
Morning xx
I'm - 4 lbs this week - not too many calories in Lems!ps then! Maybe I should carry on as though I have a sore throat still - porridge, soup and ice lollies having been my staples this week.
Chuckling at the image of Brambling chasing the neighbour's cat
Dumpling - hugs xx That's not a nice thing to say to anyone - I'd be 'socially distancing' myself from that one for good! It is a worrying time and so hard to control anxiety when the whole world seems to be going nuts. One day at a time, my love, and we can get through this xx
I'm not sure being on this site is good for me: the other day it made me yearn for piccalilli, today it's Pom bears
Take care

I have cheered up a lot now, what's that saying...next mood swing in 0.8 seconds! That's what I feel like, it's very tiring. I have bought myself a new phone so I can Facetime my family and it is being delivered today so that is something to look forward too (and get to grips with as I am not very phone savvy). My eating has been a lot better so far, I have had wholemeal toast for breakfast and will have some soup for lunch. My husband is treating us to a takeaway tonight from a new business. The poor things have only been open for a couple of weeks so we want to support them. Tomorrow we are not having a roast as we couldn't get any joints of meat delivered until the 25th. Not a problem as we have plenty of other stuff to eat. Hope you are all coping well, hugs for those who are struggling xxx6
