Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 1

Good evening everyone
Brambling Hah! sistersThe amount of flooding especially on the back lanes is shocking around here, too. I’m getting fed up with washing mud off the dogs’ legs, paws and tummies. Will this rain ever stop for more than a day or so?
Dumpling I hope you have a more comfortable night tonight. Commiserations. I have arthritis in my hands which sometimes wakes me in the night, usually when the weather is exceptionally wet and/or cold.
CRANKY well done on STS in spite of everything. 👍Zafiro 👍 for STS. I find meal planning helps keep me on track, and also helps deal with leftovers.
Short_bird congratulations on your loss 👏 well done.
Today’s meals were:
B : porridge
L : ham and chicken salad (chicory, cress, celery, lambs lettuce)
D : salmon with leek, fennel and green beans; cinnamon yogurt
S : 3 squares of 85% chocolate (finished the pack, so no more now)
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Well done on the STS and on your loss Short_bird 👏👏👏
You've been busy Frith, it's always handy to have HM RMs in the freezer for when you have no time to cook
Dumpling my hairdresser had a gastric band and tells me it's possible to eat gradually and stretch them. His mother had a gastric bypass and although she lost a lot of weight it's not easy, she had problems because she would eat vegetables and have no room for other food and was told to stop eating fruit and veg and take vitamins instead so she didn't fill up on too low calorie food 😕 I would miss cooking and eating especially when socialising, but each to their own and it works for some. I've inherited a bad reaction to anaesthetic, my low blood pressure drops even lower and I was so sick for hours after 🤢 so no ops for me unless there's no other choice
i hope you're feeling better Cranky 🙂 tell your BF to stop sharing
Zaifiro I think preplanning is the way to go, it's difficult to teach old dogs new tricks. Would LOs work from the night before?
Blue Doggy I was lucky driving home last night, my colleagues' usual 26 mile journey home ended up as over 80 miles and took 3.5 hours as there was so much flooding and roads closed, he said he saw one car in water up to its windows, they obviously didn't realise it was in a dip so deeper than it looked. I'll take a cold dry day over the rain
It was a relief to get home tonight, definitely TFIF and next week is going to be busier 😕. I need to find time around a busy weekend to set me up meal wise for a few days and healthy snacks as I've agreed to work until 7pm some nights and 6pm others. I'm meeting a friend tomorrow for a catch-up and there will be food involved, we go from morning coffee to lunch to afternoon tea with the very occasional trip into a shop. Life and storms have got in the way so this is the first catchup since before Christmas 🙂 if we're lucky her husband and son will come to meet us and treat us for afternoon tea 🍰🧁
B - porridge and fruit
L - turkey broth followed by strawberries and FF Greek yogurt
D - bacon, egg, sausages and toast
S - grapes

Hello all, it has been a very slippery slope the last few days have wanted to eat for England the last few days and have given in to the temptation.
I feel so utterly pathetic that even knowing the benefits and desperately wanting to feel like I did before, emotionally and physically there are some days when I totally self sabotage. I'm sorry to sound so defeated but am feeling thoroughly sorry for myself.
Goodness knows what the scales will say on Monday but will have to take it on the chin and move onwards and upwards.
Menu as was and is today
Oaty pancakes and the usual.
Ham, small wedge of cheese, cold pakora , gerkins, pickled red cabbage and a couple of crispbakes
Burger in a bun, HM wedges and HM barbecue beans........Tiramisu
Orange and a hot cross bun

Good evening everyone
Brambling I hope you enjoyed the day out with your friend 🧁🍩☕️ Your work load for next week sounds very busy, I hope you manage to get some good food preps done tomorrow.
Roblou hugsBe strong, our bodies tend to fight back if they think they’re going not to be fed. I get times like that, when all I want to do is, as you rightly say, sabotage myself. I have stickers on cupboards asking “ how fat do you want to be?” If it’s any help to you for next time you get one of those times, I’ve found with mine if I hold on and don’t give in there’s a weight loss on its way. It’s very very hard, though.
Best wishes.
In Blue Doggy’s dish today:
B : bacon & eggs
L : sardine salad (red chicory, celery, lambs lettuce)
D : chicken with peas, carrots and broccoli; cinnamon yogurt
S : apple

Great start Roundtuit 👏👏
Roblou you're not pathetic, if this was easy we would all be our ideal weight and for many of us we use food to deal with life issues and emotions. Like you I self sabotage and then feel worst about myself afterwards. I know it's not easy but try and be kind to yourself 🙂
i had had a good catch up with my friend today and it involved food and copious amounts of tea, her husband and son met us for afternoon tea and I'm feeling my age her son turns 30 soon and yes I changed his nappy as a baby 👶

Did another little shop so I’ve got the right ingredients for the BSD, come Monday...8 -
After 2 weeks of STS I was pleased to see a loss of 1lb this week. Mind you I got all excited thinking I'd lost 3lbs, then when I checked my last weigh in I was 2lbs lighter then than I thought I was, so it was just 1lb but better than nothing.

Afternoon All
Well done roundtuit and Sue excellent loss.
Hugs Roblou, we all know how you feel, if we all did what me know we should we'd all be at target, I think the mental obstacle is the hardest and self sabotage is our greatest enemy, I know I shouldn't put the spoon of peanut butter in my mouth and but there I am with the spoon in one hand and the jar in the other. There is nothing wrong with feeling sorry for yourself, but you have to have a good old wallow then move on good luck xx
Well I have had a fantastic few days celebrating dds 16th, have eaten everything I shouldn't including my own (considerable) weight in cake. I have tried to exercise a little more to try and offset a little of the expected gain, but I've had such a lovely time, I'm not going to worry. Tomorrow is a new day and start and there are no real celebrations ahead apart from dh birthday middle of next month, but that is usually a small affair. So I'm raring to go.
Tomorrow should be
B porridge, water/milk fruit
L baked rice with chicken and veg, apple
D pesto pasta and salad.
p.s any heard from FrugalLina, hope she is alright?
