Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 1

Afternoon All,
This morning seems to have flown by, being busy definitely makes work go faster!!
Toonie Well done on the loss. I know what you mean about wanting stodge and comfort food. It's been so cold that I don't want to do anything but sit on the sofa, under a blanket, and eat carbs.
jackrabbit Well done on the loss, especially when dealing with your electric being up the wall. The idea of freezing wine in an ice cube tray is genius. Leftover wine is a very rare occurrence in our house but it would be so handy for recipes where you only need a splash.
procrastinator Sorry for you gain and I hope you're not too sad about it. It's only a tiny gain so hopefully you'll get rid of it quickly.
Sirens Well done for getting out and about in the vile weather and picking up birthday presents. I went for a walk on Saturday and can sympathise with the 1 step forwards/2 steps back. I also thought that the rain was actually going to cut my face at one point!!
Blue Doggy I'm glad you're feeling better and well done for the loss
Molly Definitely be careful going out in this weather, despite my sturdiness it nearly had me off my feet a couple of times. Well done for fitting into smaller clothes, it's always so rewarding when you get there.
Brambling Bless the clingy cat. Ours isn't scared of storms but he doesn't like going out in the rain so stays in and moans at us for the weather not being to his liking...
Sue Well done for the inches loss. I really, really must try to find what I did with my tape measure!!
Bfh It sounds like a good (albeit not from a dieting point of view) weekend and well done for getting to the gym, even with the unexpected outfit change.
All the talk of knees is making me thing of something my husband often says - we've reached an age now where we don't have left and right knees, it's good and bad knees
I was very pleased with this morning's weigh in and have lost -3lb this week. I was worried, as we were out Saturday night, that I would've put on most of the weight loss I was showing on Friday but managing to avoid eating too much yesterday and seem to have got away with it for now.
Best of luck everyone for the week ahead xx6 -
Popped to the supermarket this morning and resisted buying pastries as yesterday I made a tea loaf. I was awake most of Saturday night into Sunday as just could not sleep, so I put a load of dried fruit into soak and then baked my loaf yesterday afternoon. It's got a lot of fruit, not much sugar, and no extra fat (just what's in the egg). And very nice it is with a scrape of butter.B-Tea loafL-Bacon and tomato sandwich + grapesD-Steak and veggiesGrocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3655

Good evening everyone
Izadora very well done on an excellent loss! They’re always better when unexpected.
Toonie well done on making good use of a sleepless night. So nice to have something tasty homemade.
I spent the afternoon with friends, and managed to refuse a (chocolate chip) biscuit, so feeling pleased. The weather has turned quite icy now, but I did manage to dry a couple of the dogs’ towels on the washing line this morning - with all the rain we’ve had they use them up quickly.
Food of the day:
B - bacon & eggs
L - apple, satsuma, skyr; 4 oatcakes with Marmite
D - aubergine, fennel & tomato bake; yogurt with rhubarb
S - none“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Wow Izadora you've smashed your stone 👏 you have definitely hit your stride this quarter 🙂. I love how cats will look out of one door, disapprove of the weather and then ask you to open the other door to check it's raining there too 🐱🐾
Toonie I was once given a 3 ingredient fruit cake recipe which included chocolate milk as one of the ingredients I can't remember if I ever made it, I tend to stick to either a tea loaf or malt loaf where the fruit is soaked in milk
Well done on biscuit avoidance Blue Doggy, it's so easy to talk and eat biscuits without think about it
There are still chocolates in the office and with only four of us in today, no one to eat them 🙈. I may have had two or three, they are situated in the wrong place 🙄
B - porridge and fruit
L - HM chicken and vegetable soup
D - left overs - venison and vegetables from the weekend
S - 3 chocolates, nectarine, plum, fibre one barLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -
Weekly weigh in today and pleased to say that I've lost another 1lb! The weight is not shifting as quickly as I'd like but I suppose if it's slow and steady, then I've more chance of keeping it off! Well done to everyone who's lost this week! It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.8

Hi all, long time lurker, sometimes poster but have not been on for a while now. I did manage to loose 4.5 stone over 4 yrs but went back to part time work with weird shift times and put 2.5 back on. Gutted. I have clothes that no longer fit and refuse to buy any more even more now as was made redundant last week. So have to get my act together. Back to old style money saving and weight loss. I know I'm late to the part for this quarter but could I join in. Have made a start and lost 4lbs over the last month or so but would like to loose another 3 before the end of March.

Morning All,
Toonie Well done for being so productive when you couldn't sleep. I normally end up slouched on the sofa, watching terrible TV and eating biscuits when insomnia hits.
Blue Doggy Well done for resisting the biscuit, it's all too easy to join in when others are having them, and how lovely to get things line-dried. It's quite sad but it's one of the many things about spring that I'm looking forward to.
Brambling I find the snack placement in our office (on the cabinet that's right behind me) unfair too and I think you did well to stick to as few chocolates as you did. I seem to remember doing okay in the first quarter last year, it was after that that things went a bit downhill...I'm not sure what's clicked into place this time, it may well be that I'm more fed up with my weight than with anything else that was causing the overeating, but I'll just try to stick with it and hopefully keep going this time.
Miss Behaving Well done on the loss and slowly is better than quick but unsustainable
roblou Hi and welcome. Well done on what you've lost so far and best of luck with getting back to old style saving.
Yesterday went according to plan and I even managed to complete the C25K shuffle (run 10, walk 3, run 10) that I was on. Seeing as it was only my 2nd run since hurting my back I was just trying to get out and not make excuses not to pull my trainers on so was very happy that I kept going, albeit very slowly, for the whole thing.
Today's plan:
B - bran flakes
L - crusty bread with sweet chilli philadelphia and cucumber
D - home-made vegetable curry with rice
S - there are none planned but that doesn't mean there won't be any...
Seeing as it's a nice day I'll probably go for a walk at lunchtime as well.
Best of luck everyone xx7
