Morning All,
Brambling Well done for avoiding the work biscuit tin and I hope you managed to avoid snacking last night. I quite often take myself off to bed early just so that I can't raid the kitchen cupboards.
Blue Doggy Well done for getting bargain Valentine's Day goodies. Splitting them out to make a few meals sounds like a really good idea.
Honey Sorry for the gain, it seems that a champagne diet is to be avoided. I definitely don't think it's a record though, I'm sure I've managed more than that some weeks.
Sirens Well done on the loss and I hope that the knee eases up soon
zafiro That's a slightly extreme way to get a rest and some pampering, after your next knee op maybe try a spa instead
Bfh Enjoy the eating out of the weekend and don't think about your weigh in, hopefully it will be better than feared.
I'd love to say that I'd managed to stick to the plan yesterday but it went a bit out of the window. I'm very hormonal and about the only time I'm not hungry is when I'm eating so I ate way more snacks than I should've done. I tried to add it all up today and I think I probably managed to break even on calories in/out but it would've been a very close run thing. So far today I've had bran flakes for breakfast and have avoided the ridiculous amount of sweets that are sitting on a desk right behind me but I fear that I may crack at any moment and it won't be pretty when I do
I hope everyone has a good weekend xx5 -
Hormones have a lot to answer for Izadora 🥺 I say this as a woman of a certain age (mind you aren't they all 🤔 ) mine comes with 'power surges' 🥵 and my weight has redistributed
The chocolate fairy unfortunately paid a visit to the office today, with the sweetie container filling up whilst I was at lunch 🙄 I managed to only eat a couple 🤫 my reward for a good annual review although I'm not going to get rich on what we're getting 😏
B - porridge and fruit
L - chicken and vegetable soup
D - smoked cod, colcannon made with leeks and cavolo nero, runner beans and tender stem broccoli- there was butter in the mash

Good evening everyone
Honey commiserationson your weight gain, here’s hoping it will come off as quickly as it went on

Brambling
Aw, shucks!Brambling said: I think we can safely say Blue Doggy's theory on the champagne diet was wrong.
That naughty step’s getting cosy, don’t make it too comfy, though
But your cushions sound a good distraction from snacking, since you won’t want crumbs on them.
Are they for you or gifts (or His Lordship)?
SIRENS well done on your loss 👏 I’m very sorry your knee is sore, I hope it will be better soon.Like you, I have problems with the like/unlike button - on my iPad, the list of likers is overlaid on the text above, in faint and teeny-tiny print, quite illegible.
zafiro wow! That’s an impressive list of works.Best wishes for your weight loss.
Bfh I hope you’ll enjoy your meals out over the weekend. Then next week you can make a restartDon’t get too comfy on that naughty step!
Izadora well done on containing the calories yesterday. Did you manage to resist the Sweetie Fairy’s offerings (is she by any chance related to the Chocolate Fairy who frequents Brambling’s office?).
I was feeling very blue and miserable this morning, and really wanted to stuff my face with chocolate, biscuits, cake, and other naughty things. It was tough but I did manage to do some mundane tasks and got through to lunchtime without a snack. In the afternoon I had several errands to do, and was very pleased with myself in Wilkos where I resisted the boxes of chocolate money reduced to 10p per net beside the till. I pictured a pound’s worth round my hips, which helped
Eaten today:
B - porridge, satsuma
L - Heston B’s Bloody Mary prawn cocktail (the starter from the Valentine Df2: it was meant for 2 but made a generous lunch for one) with two handfuls of mixed leaves (from a Df2 side dish); skyr with the last of the pomegranate seeds
D - steamed haddock with peas, carrots and fennel; yogurt with more Df2 berries
S - none (unless you count 2 mugs of tea when I got home after visiting 2 towns and a village on my various errands)“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Hi all, I've been very good this week, apart from Tuesday when I was working with one of my 'devil friends', lol, who tempted me with biscuits, and I had 2 pieces of shortbread and a hobnob. I am pleased to report another 1.5lbs lost! I also feel that some of my clothes are a fraction looser, although I can still only fasten one of my coats, but at least it's not quite as tight as it was.

Kew
Nice day in Kew gardens, lots of walking around. Stopped for coffee only as at £4.00 a muffin I easily left them. Came home for late lunch early dinner. Roast beetroot, mushroom, tomatoes with halluomi and salad. After had apples cooked butter with cinnamon and blueberries served with whipped cream.
Not hungry but feeling peckish so keeping pangs at bay but drinking water, extra exercise when running up and down to bathroom.

Not been around recently as I have been trying to fight off a chest infection, on the plus side I have not felt like eating much, but have been using pubic transport rather than walking!! Still clothes are getting looser. But I need to start increasing my steps.
As its Valentine's day I have cooked a roast for hubby, and had falafel and tomato sauce in place of his roast chicken and gravy, with roast potato, roast parsnipasnd veg - biggest meal I have had I a long time!! Hubby was happy though - he was expecting Mac and cheese!! But we had left over veg which has been added to my pasta lunch for tommorow, taking my total friit/veg portions to10!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"6 -
Good morning all,
Sorry for the late report. I STS this week. Probably the stress of the HT's work experience. It's done now anyway and he's on his half term break.
SIRENS I too have a dodgy knee this week. I woke one night last week with it locked and it really hurt to straighten it. It's been sore ever since but I think it's getting better.
Zafiro good to see you back
Take care all of you5 -
I had to do a couple of hours' work this morning so thought I'd pop by while I had the laptop on.
Brambling Well done for only having a couple of the office chocolates. The fairies definitely like delivering to our work places...
Blue Doggy Sorry you were feeling down yesterday and I hope today's better. Very well done for keeping yourself occupied and resisting the chocolate coins.
Sue Well done for the loss, even with your devil friend tempting you into biscuits
procrastinator I'm glad you had a good day at Kew and got lots of walking in. £4 for a muffin!!! I'm not surprised you could resist them.
sillyvixen Sorry you've not been feeling well. It's not an ideal way to lose weight but it's good that your clothes are getting looser.
Cranky Well done for the STS despite stress and I hope that you and the HT have a good half term.
I didn't quite manage to avoid all of the snacks at work but it was nowhere near as bad as it could've been so I'll take it as a win. I managed to have a very sensible dinner of roasted veggies and couscous but the half a bottle of prosecco and a few glasses of gin won't have helped the diet
So far today all I've had is coffee and I somehow managed to stop myself when I unthinkingly reached for the biscuit tin.
Best of luck and have a good weekend all xx5 -
Hello all, apologies for being a little absent. I'm not quite sure where the days have gone.I've been a little uninspired of late and so have missed out my exercise bike routine. I'm still sticking to my target of walking at least 20 miles a week though and I'm doing 20 minutes of stretches every day. Last week I was STS and this week I stepped on the scales knowing I'd had a couple of biscuits and a little Christmas chocolate as well as eating more stodge as felt the need for cheap, warming comfort food. The scales (amazingly) said I'd lost 1/4 of a pound. I'm surprised and happy with thatBreakfast: Grapes and then toastSnack: Hard boiled eggLunch: Cheese salad sandwichSupper: Gammon (in the slow cooker at present) veggies and potatoes.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3656

Afternoon all, Hope you're all having a good weekend! Sorry about the late posting this week, yet again our electricity has been up the creak, but hopefully (I say this in hope ) the line has been fixed, the line runs over ground so when it snows ( or have a lot of rain) it freezes in the pipe and no longer works! Roll on summer!! It's just taken me sometime to work out the new forum on the computer this morning as trying to work it out on my phone I have no chance!! Welcome all newbies!
Busy week working (but not as much exercise!) youngest DS has an Interview for Collage so we had to kit him out so that meant going into town - 2hrs away, so we had a meal out, very tasty which also included a panna cotta so I will be going on the naughty step next week at a guess!! -This week I'm down 1lb ,not much but slowly going in the right direction!! I think all the walking around won't count after my pudding either..!! Sorry to add to your smiles late Brambling!!We don't seem to have as many as before, I'll get the hang of it soon...!!
Izadora, yes, my sons shortbread was lovely , he's been thinking of me this week and made stir-fry which was soo tasty! I hope your back improves and you're not in too much pain. If there is any left over wine in our house before it goes off I freeze it in ice cube trays and it's great for putting in stews etc, it's just consumed another way!!
Bluegreen, I made the peanut butter oats from your recipe ( very yummy!), I was the only one in our house to eat them so they did over two days, I'll make the fruit one next and see if I have any takers!
Brambling , I love the smiles you have chosen! Dumpling, I also self medicate on any ice cream especially when DH is away working! The weather doesn't help when it's cold wet and windy and the thought of even going for a walk, luckily we have a dog so it's a must!
Honey, I hope you enjoyed the wedding, I don't think I would of had as much willpower as you at avoiding the buffet! Sorry about the gain, though weddings don't happen too often.
Procrastinator, It sounds as though you had a lovely day out at Kew Gardens, I would of been like you regarding the muffin, £4 !! especially when I make them at home for DS and DH lunch boxes for a fraction of the price!!
Have a good week everyone x
