Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 1

Well done *Dumpling*, that’s a great loss
-1lb for me. I think this is going to be a looong journey!
Have a good day all.0 -
Hi, is it too late to join in here? I’ve just seen it!
I have been doing ok on my own so far (mainly walking and some swimming/yoga and cutting crap snacks rather than calorie counting etc). Lost about 5lb the first 3 weeks of Jan but stayed the same last year.
I’d like to set a target of a further 9lb (sorry it won’t go big) off for the quarter which would mean I’d lose a stone overall. Obviously brilliant if I lost more but I’m not massively far from my goal weight (about 1.5st in total) so I think I’m kidding myself if I think it’ll fall off.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Morning All,
I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Honey Well done on the loss and massive congratulations for resisting the ice cream and cake at the market
Blue Doggy Well done on the STS and best of luck with the social events this week, especially the competitive biscuit buying
Brambling Sorry you'd had a pants week at work and then were subjected to people bringing in birthday cakes. For how few people I work with and how often there are cakes in the kitchen I swear everyone here must have three birthdays a year...
sarahj Best of luck getting your bum back into gear for Feb
procrastinator Well done on the loss
Sue I understand not being happy about a STS but it's definitely better than a gain
Toonie Well done on the STS and the inches lost
2goals2get2 Well done on the loss
Dumpling Well done on the loss. I've never tried any PON recipes but I've tried loads of hairy bikers stuff and they've all turned out really well.
Bfh Well done on the loss. It may be a longer journey than you'd hoped for but it's still going in the right direction.
Bluegreen Hello and welcome. Well done on your loss so far and best of luck with the last bit of it.
I somehow managed to eat pretty sensibly on Friday, despite the attack of the glums, and went for Japanese takeaway for lunch (udon noodles in a miso soup with veg, gyoza and a hard boiled egg) and a couple of veggie bake things with veg for dinner. Saturday and Sunday weren't quite so sensible...
Saturday - I worked for a couple of hours in the morning and then decided that the kitchen needed a proper deep clean. 6.5 hours, a lot of coffee and only a handful of crisps for food later, I pulled my trainers on and did my C25K. I was then meant to be going to the shops to pick up stuff for dinner and Sunday lunch but ended up going to the pub to meet friends instead so dinner was a hastily eaten M&S pasta salad and a not-very-sensible amount of beer :O
Sunday - I had friends over for lunch so ended up having a full roast dinner, with all the trimmings, and then made steamed syrup sponges for dessert. Oops. Oh well, at least I enjoyed it.
I did manage to lose -1lb this week and am trying to take my own advice and be happy that it's going in the right direction, albeit somewhat slower than I'd like.
I'm slightly annoyed though because I was lighter when I weighed myself on Friday and, despite not making the best choices over the weekend, I still didn't eat as many calories as my Fitbit reckons I'd burnt. I think it must be overestimating what I'm burning as I've been managing at least a 1,000 calorie deficit most days but my weight loss doesn't seem to be reflecting that.
I'll give it another week doing what I'm doing and then see where I can start trimming some calories off to create a bigger deficit.
Best of luck for the week ahead xx0 -
Good morning all,
I've decided to aim for a self care week this week - i.e. putting me first. I went running before I did the food shop but I did have a bit of a time limit as my House Troll is off school with a sore throat so no exercise bike.
Came home to put the shopping away and make lunch for the HT, so far so good. Best friend rang me and asked if I'd take him food shopping so back out again (did stop for a drink first because I'd been running).
Not sure what is for dinner yet but come hell or high water I will be running again on Wednesday morning (before work). My back and my sore leg are starting to hurt again which is what happens when my fitness level drops. Happily the side effect of running seems to be weight loss so fingers crossed. I might hqave left it a bit late for this week though...
Take care all of you0 -

Congratulations to all on the losses and STS :T:T Dumpling you've reached your 1st qtr target which is great, hitting the cookery books seems to be working :T I do like the Hairy Bikers Sausage Casserole (although their non-diet one is nicer
)
Welcome Bluegreen143  It's never to late to join, I've added you to the table
Izadora we are a very small office with 14 usually in the office with a few regular visitors from other offices, about half the office have birthdays in the first 5 weeks of the yearthere were two birthdays on Friday so the second one has promised to will bring cakes soon  I should have the will power to walk away but if I did I wouldn't have been on a diet for most of my adult life
Cranky others will benefit if you take time for yourself as it will make you a healthier and happier person.
I'm glad to say the lurking lurgy never fully developed at the weekend although it hasn't completely disappeared either, my sister was complaining of the same symptons at the weekend. I want it to either go away or come out i'm fed up of not feeling quite 100%. I was well enough to go to a on screen showing of the opera from the Met New York on Saturday although after nearly 4 hours of Porgy and Bess I was glad to get home, the Interval was 40 minutes ..... I've eaten badly since the last weight in on Wednesday so it's not looking good, I've also eaten a lot of bread and cake and the wheat doesn't agree with me so I should know better.. Any one got a gun ?
Food wise I'm trying to be better today
B - Porridge and fruit
L- HM Chicken soup
D - will be something with smoked haddock
S - grapes, fibre one brownieLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
