Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 1

My lurgy is still lurking Blue Doggy, I woke with a bad headache and had to use my inhaler after walking up the hill into town lunchtime, but that's it so hopefully it will go away again. We've one (four person) working lift at work, which isn't great for a five floor building  where I can I'll walk
.
Our systems are still playing up at work and IT are really bad about keeping everybody up to date, probably because they have no idea of the cause  we're luckier than some offices but it's still frustrating and we seemed to spend our day telling everyone 'not our systems not our fault' as it's a group issue affecting everyone
I'm assuming you didn't succumb to the large pizza IzadoraI succumbed to carrot cake twice  it was my colleague birthday, she's a bit hit and miss as a baker, her brownies weren't too my taste but her carrot cake with cream cheese icing was delicious
.
B - porridge and fruit
L - stuffed beef tomato and portobello mushroom
D - cauliflower croquettes and vegetables
S - two pieces of carrot cake, grapes, chocolate biscuitLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
A STS is good when you've haven't been well Jackrabbit. You can keep the snow :snow_grin. There are a few advantages of living in the expensive south east and lack of snow is one of them
. Cold but lovely day here

SIRENS Glad you enjoyed the opera procrastinator, I have never been to the opera either, I do like the theatre and we go to the globe now and then as dd likes it and standing tickets are only £5.
My daughter has gone as a standling but I can't physically do it. Have been once to see a french play many years ago. Lovely setting.

Your split peas were young whippersnappers compared to some I have used that were literally years old.
This made me smile. I did soak them overnight before cooking maybe next time I'll soak for more than 24hours and see if that helps.
Brambling - wish I had a pressure cooker but not buying new equipment now got far too much already for a small kitchen.
jackrabbit123 - I don't mind eating out of date items especially dried t hings like beans but was disappointed these didn't cook down nicely. I soaked them and cooked them for twice as long as I normally would.
Hi folks
Experimenting with multiply quotes hope this turns out OK.
Didn't post yesterday as out late, went to see local amateur production of Amadeus which ended late. It was excellent, before show went to dinner had pizza and salad.
Today was my volunteer day had fruit nuts and cheese for lunch. dinner was bulger wheat salad limes, tom, black olives, spring onions with halloumi and oyster mushrooms and salad leaves.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Yesterday I ordered new work tops in a smaller size, I was hoping to leave it untill I needed short sleeve tops in the spring but they are now hanging off me.
The freezer is stocked with work lunches for the next 4+ weeks - just need a bit of rice, pasta, Jacket potato or bread to add to it (i do 2-3 days as once and put in the fridge in portions) lunches are reheated in microwave at work and I eat lots of fruit.
I have gone down 2 sizes in works uniform since mid September, and have not purchased any ready prepared food for lunch. It not only shows in lbs but also in £s!!
All good.
I have also planted salad leaves in a container on the window sill - for cheap salad in spring.
I wish you all good luck in you journeys.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
Hello x
Well i am gutted tbh as I have STS I tried so hard don't know what else I can do being so limited physically. Oh well onwards and upwards keep positive xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Morning All,
Blue Doggy Well done for tackling the paperwork. I'm great at putting off things which I don't like doing/find stressful so it's a real achievement when you manage to do it
jackrabbit Well done on a STS when you've not been feeling well. I hope the snow and cold don't hamper your son's birthday too much and you all get to celebrate.
Brambling I hope the lurgy's subsiding now and that you've got more lifts. I think I'd probably wait for the single lift rather than attempt 5 flights of stairs!! I managed not to succumb to the pizza but I would definitely have lost the battle against carrot cake.
procrastinator I'm glad the production of Amadeus was good, I've found that local theatre can be a bit hit and miss... Your salad sounds lovely, I might have to do something similar soon.
sillyvixen Congratulations on having to order new tops, 2 sizes in that time is amazing.
Molly41 There's no need to apologise and you're not bringing anything down. I know how disheartening it is when you're giving it all you've got but still not getting anywhere and you're fully entitled to be fed up with it. Hopefully your body's just taking a bit of time to catch up and you'll get a loss next week.
Yesterday I ended up having Pilpel (falafel, salad, houmous and pitta) for lunch. It's not something I'd have every day, due to cost as much as anything, but they have a nutrition calculator on their website and it was surprisingly lower in calories than I feared. I then had home made lasagne with veg for tea, after going out to do C25K. I was very good and only pinched 3 of IzHe's curly fries, I did have a handful of twiglets as a snack though.
I'm working from home today so have my usual battle against all of the goodies that are still leftover from Christmas.
B - Coffee
L - Something on toast, maybe egg and mushroom
D - Beef (Quorn for me), mushroom and wholegrain mustard casserole with a potato topping
S - Probably wine. My dad tends to look at me as though I've grown and extra head if I say no to wine with dinner :rotfl:
Best of luck everyone xx0 -
Apologies not being on here , just posting to say I stayed the same . I know where ive gone wrong and need to sew my mouth shut xxThe original janiebaby0

STS
I think I'm just trying to make pretty patterns with letters and smilies... :rotfl:
Anyway, I can make a few [STRIKE]tweaks[/STRIKE] major alterations this week and see what happens.
