  • Hi
today I made soup trying to use up split yellow peas I found in cupboard, best before Jan 2020 oops. Didn't cook down like the lentils do but was passable. Told OH will have this a few more times to use it up.
dinner was mushroom omelette with salad and home made coleslaw.
Have been drinking water with lime juice. Had 3 coffees this morning.really needed it. 1 pear, 1 apple, brazil nuts and walnuts

Your split peas were young whippersnappers compared to some I have used that were literally years old. :D

I need to go asleep, because I have got a very early hospital appointment in the morning, but I cant work out how to set my alarm and I have worried myself into not being tired. :o

    Hi everyone :hello:

Just popping on to record a 2lb loss this week. I really don't know how I did it as I have scoffed for England this week due to feeling miserable about myself. Just hope it doesn't bite me on the bum next week. I have been reading along but felt too bad to post, sorry. Never mind, today is a new week and a fresh start. Good luck all you Monday weighers xx

Morning everyone. Hope a good weekend was had by all and those of you who are ill, I' hope you are on the mend, I can sympathise.

I decided Parkrun ddefinitely wasn't a good idea Saturday morning. gave the other half an opportunity to really stretch his legs and not spend the first half plodding along with me!
I've been feeling better in myself but still have a horrid cough, which when I start I can't stop. It's really been giving my stomach muscles a workout and keeping me awake at night. I think a god night of uninteruppted sleep would do me the world of good! Unfortunately I've passed it on to my other half too, so he's suffering as well now.
There's been a definite lack of exercise recently. Food hasn't been too bad, although I do feel like I've eaten quite a lot of stodgy heavy food over the weekend so it's good to get back to more fruit and salad today. Still feel a bit like I need to feed a cold though, so I;m not holding out too much hope for weigh in on Wednesday.

    Morning All,

SeekingFlight Well done on the loss and best of luck on focusing on the quality of what you're eating

Toonie Well done on the loss, the short walks obviously worked

Cherry Burton Well done on the loss and best of luck with sticking to it.

Blue Doggy Well done on a STS, especially with eating out and showing a midweek gain, and the inch loss around your waist is fantastic

Sirens Although I do enjoy proper cooking as well I'm a bit like your daughter, making cakes is much more enjoyable. I hope you enjoy the exercise bike, I'm not sure whether I'd be really pleased or kill my husband if he did the same :D

Honey I'm glad the willpower fairy's still working her magic. I hope you managed to get some sleep and that the hospital appointment goes well

Brambling The Adele tribute sounds like fun. Did you ever see the thing she did with Graham Norton where she went in disguise to an audition for Adele impersonators?

procrastinator Well done on the STS and I'm glad you enjoyed the Opera. I've never been to one and thought I wouldn't be able to follow what was going on so the subtitles sounds like a great idea

jackrabbit Well done on the PB for your 5K and I hope that the cold's feeling better now

Bfh Well done for managing to fit in 3 gym sessions when everything's been stressful. I fully understand not wanting to weigh in, I spent a lot of the last challenge not wanting to get on the scales because I knew that a gain could tip me over the edge. I hope this week's calmer and easier for you

Dumpling Well done on the loss and hopefully things won't catch up with you next week. I hope you're feeling better about yourself today and best of luck for the week ahead.

s_glover I can see why parkrun wouldn't have been a good idea. I hope the cough eases up and lets you sleep soon

After being very worried midweek I managed a -1.5lb loss. I was quite pleased with myself as I managed a pretty active weekend and didn't get too stuck into the snacks.

On Saturday I kept myself busy by clearing out my wardrobe and sorting through the bags of stored (too small) clothes and taking a load of stuff to the charity shop. I didn't actually get round to having lunch so ended up having a small bowl of cheeselets and then the planned haggis dinner.

Yesterday felt like I was on the go most of the day and I'd managed to hit 10,000 steps before midday!! I did C25K first thing and then went to do a beach clean at half 10. It was lovely to see how well attended it was and really good, but utterly terrifying, to see just how much rubbish was collected in an hour and a half. I also popped into town to pick up a couple of bits and then walked round to my friend's house to drop her birthday presents off so finished the day on over 20,000 steps!!

Food yesterday - seeded muffins with Quorn bacon and mushrooms for brunch, leftover haggis and rice for dinner and a small bowl of crisps and a bar of Dairy Milk as snacks.

    Food today -
    B - bran flakes
    L - ??
D - cauliflower cheese soup and toast

    Best of luck everyone xx

    Good evening everyone :)

jackrabbit congratulations on completing your 5k. :T I hope your cold will be better in time for your son’s birthday on Wednesday.

Brambling thank you for updating the list - what a lot of us there are!

SIRENS well, that was a surprise present :D I hope you have many happy rides on it (especially when the weather is bad).

Bfh hopefully the gym sessions will have counteracted any indulgences.

honey I hope your hospital appointment went well and all is ok. :)

dumpling congratulations on a good loss. :j I’m sorry you’ve been feeling low, I hope your success at weight loss helps you feel a bit better. :)

s_glover sorry to hear you’re still poorly, hope your cough goes soon. :)

Izadora congratulations on your loss! :j And on having such an active and productive weekend. Excellent steps and well done on beach clean. :A
I’m not sure where my “lost” inch went, it’s probably just relocated itself, it’s a lot to actually lose in one go. When I used to measure various bits regularly, it was quite usual to find half an inch from one place turn up in another, but when they start moving eventually they disappear. :rotfl:

    killielila hiya! :hello:

I’ve been feeling a bit “pre-lurgy” - hope I’m wrong. Was very grumpy this morning but managed to grab the energy and convert it into doing some housework :) . Dozed on & off this afternoon though :( .

    Today’s Doggy-munch:
    B: bacon and eggs
L: cold roast lamb with salad of chopped apple & carrot
D salmon with fennel, broccoli & green beans (the last of the bag), yogurt with the last piece of stem ginger found lurking with a teaspoon of syrup in the back of the cupboard - a bit naughty but very yummy :D
S: four squares of 85% chocolate (for medicinal purposes :rotfl: )

Welcome Killielila  I've added you to the table :). I can't guarantee we are going to fit into cheerleader outfits but we're happy to wave pom-poms to cheer you on :D

Well done dumpling and izadora :T:T.

Dumpling sorry you're not feeling so great at the moment, but you're doing really well especially seeing how ill you were before Christmas <hugs>

Izadora yes I saw the program Graham Norton did on Adele :) it was the look on the other women faces when these realised it was her :). I'm wondering if a lot of tribute acts are cursing her for losing so much weight :rotfl:

Bfh don't worry about not weighing in this week, I've been there as well, sometimes not getting on the scales is the best thing

Procrastinator I think with older split peas soaking them in water over night softens them and I've had to cook them a bit longer or in the pressure cooker before

Hope the hospital appointment went well Honey

I have my own roaming inches Blue Doggy somehow I think it could relate to being a women of a certain age :rotfl: like you I fear I may also have pre-lurgy germs which are going around the office at the moment, I have a tingling feeling in my nose

The weekend went far to quickly as usual and its back to the chaos of work and the joy of a all day worldwide company system outage, we had about half our systems others weren't so lucky.

    B - porridge and fruit
L - stuffed pepper and tomato with rice and vegetables with LO roast cauliflower
D - breaded Dover sole air fried (it was reduced ) green vegetables
    S - 2 shortcake biscuits

    Morning All,

killielila Hello and welcome. If you need support and a cheer squad you're definitely in the right place

Blue Doggy I really should get round to measuring myself, as I think it would help when the scales are being uncooperative, and I had to laugh at the wandering inches. I hope the pre-lurgy doesn't come to anything and that you're feeling better today

Brambling I hadn't given it a thought that Adele's weight loss would affect her tribute acts - they probably look more like her than she does now :rotfl: I hope your pre-lurgy's being kind to you as well and that work's not quite so challenging today.

Yesterday's lunch ended up being an M&S superfood salad and my snack was a Hotel Chocolat salted espresso martini chocolate - 57 calories and worth every single one of them :D

Other than my usual bran flakes for breakfast, I have absolutely no idea what I want to eat today. Well, I know what I'd like to eat but an entire large pizza doesn't really fit in with my available calories :D

    Best of luck everyone xx

    Good evening everyone :)

Brambling :) likewise, I hope your lurgy doesn’t develop any further. Mine seems to be thinking about going away, so fingers crossed! Mobile inches are good when they actually go right away. (You could think of it as a sort of cellular exercise... :D )

Sorry to hear about your systems at work, these things are great when they work and worse than useless when they fail. Are the lifts working properly now?

Izadora measuring can be useful, and if nothing else it’s quite funny when half an inch moves from one leg to the other on a daily basis. :rotfl: Your yesterday’s lunch sounds good. :) But no, a whole pizza is probably not a weight-loss meal :D

I tackled some paperwork today, something I find really stressful. Still, I did most of it. :T

    Menu:
    B: porridge
L: chicken & ham salad (chicory, beetroot, apple), Stilton cheese & walnuts
D hm steak & kidney casserole with carrots & broccoli, followed by raspberries & yogurt
    S: apple

  • Evening all,
sts :( even after all the walking...though the cake bits probably didn't help, aswell as the pizza.. try better next time!!
Well that was an eventful trip to and back from work over the tops....5'' of snow to contend with!!
Left DS in bed ( sitting prelims and didn't have any today) also nursing the cold I kindly gave him
( we are coughing in unison!! I feel for you S-glover for your cough.) only to find he's been out skiing !!
Brambling, yes you are quite right having no internet for a 16 yr old was like WW3 at times, we stay out in the sticks so he didn't have any of his friends to moan to either!!
Sirens, my cold is much better thank you, although I have given it to DS who's not best pleased!! Hopefully the cake (which is iced and decorated) will make up for it tomorrow!!
Procrastinator, I'm with Honey on how old our packets of rice , pulses etc are, mine would of walked pout by themselves years ago....!! Honey ,, I hope you woke in time for your appointment, I'm the same if I need to be somewhere on time, though when I do i hardly sleep and tend to see every hour! Thank you Izadora, I was really proud of myself and plan on doing it again! My food today consists of..
    Cheerios
peanut butter sandwich ( using up left over bread and scrapings of the jar!! - and too taxing to think of anything else at 6am and digging the track of snow to get out...!!!
H/m chicken pie, peas and tatties.
