Brambling I hope your cat’s leg is comfortable, is he the handsome beast in your avatar?

Senior Doggy has been more like himself today, so I’ve been less worried. He still tends to forget he’s eaten, and stands by the dog food cupboard looking patiently hopeful. Thank you to everyone who offered helpful suggestions for him. :)!

Yes Blue Doggy that's my boy :) he's a rescue cat so came with baggage, he's obviously been mistreated by someone and has a deep mistrust of men although he loves my nephew :). When I first got him he would snap if I got near one of his back legs, so we went through the sedation, X-ray trauma for him and there was nothing showing on his X-ray. He's a lot better most of the time but it get stiff in the cold and damp and he gets grumpy. As he's only 7 the vet is trying to avoid pills so suggested Yu Move which seems to make it better :). I'm glad Senior Doggy is more himself are you sure he's forgotten he's eaten and not just after seconds :D

Well done one all the losses I'll update the table tomorrow and catch up on what others have been doing :). I've been out tonight with my sister to a Adele tribute, which was good although a couple of times her band did drown her out.

Food wise I didn't eat lunch until 3pm so ended up with just fruit as I needed a early dinner. Dinner was a couple of lamb chops with new potatoes, French beans, broccoli, root veg mash (carrot, swede, turnip, celeriac). So a healthy day today :D

  • Opera was wonderful, there was subtitles above the curtain so could follow the plot. The sets, the sound, the costumes all amazing. Glad I went. After (it was a matinee performance) we wondered around Covent Garden and enjoyed the street performers. Had a veggie curry for dinner.

STS again as far as weekly weigh in goes. Ah well at least not a gain but I need to move next week.

    Good morning everyone :)

SIRENS you’re probably right about SD :) . How lovely of your daughter to cook for you (even if it’s not very weight loss friendly). Has she only recently started cooking? Enjoy your rice-free fish & chips. :)

Honey :) . Give the w-p fairy a medal (she hasn’t found the cream yet, then :D).

Brambling poor cat, but he’s clearly landed on his paws with you (and your nephew). :T His eyes are a really beautiful colour.

I’m sure SD would love seconds, but he’s the same with water, too.

procrastinator that sounds like a really lovely afternoon, and a great introduction to opera. :) Perhaps it will help you get out more this week. Well done on STS, in spite of everything.

I’ve STS today, which isn’t bad considering that I had two lunches out last week. When I (unofficially) weighed myself on Wednesday to see what the damage was, I’d put on 2lb so that’s gone :T . Oddly, I’ve also lost an inch off my waist. :)

    Today’s menu is
    B: porridge
D: roast lamb, onion, Brussels sprouts, green beans, and yogurt with raspberries
T: chicken with salad of chicory, beetroot and apple
    S: hopefully none

Well I walked the 5k and as its my second time in doing it I got a PB and really enjoyed it, we were blessed with a beautiful if now a wee bit cold day! it's hopefully helped a wee bit with the 3 slices of pizza I had the night before!! :rotfl:
A quite day at home suffering with a cold today, DH and DS have gone to see DS1, so that I hopefully don't give him the cold as he really suffers when he's ill.
Izadora, You made me laugh, with liking Parma Violets too, we got given a tub of sweets ...they are the only ones left in the box, no one likes them and 'they taste of soap' is the most common quote in our house!!
Thanks Brambling, I'm glad they are fixed now, so is a 16 yr old too!!! You forget how much you relay on the internet especially for emails!
I hope my chocolate fix will be enough, I'm lucky in a way , if I'm not feeling a 100% I tend to like lemon/ orange jelly, youghrts , h/m smoothies , fruit etc, though sadly I always revert back to chocolate when I'm better!! Blue Doggy, we have a working black lab who's 8 yrs old luckily at the moment she still has moments of behaving like a puppy, though like Senior Doggy she also sits at the dog food cupboard looking always hopeful!!
I'm really pleased you got to the Opera Procrastinator, I've never been to the Opera , we tend to go to the theatre when the opportunity arises which isn't very often, we do take the boys to the Panto at Christmas even at the ages they are they still enjoy it!! Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend x
Today so far, muslie with youghrt
    h/m raspberry smoothie
make believe sorreen ( 3 slices)- no butter!
It's going to be Chicken fyitas for tea,a piece of sponge cake and custard - making a Birthday cake for DS2
( he's going to be 17 on Wednesday!! ) and it's the cut offs from decorating the cake...!!!

Evening all  and well done on all the losses and STS:T:T.

I've updated the table and as always please shout if I've missed your update :)

Other than going around to an ex neighbour to help with a form I've stayed in today as the weather has been wet since lunchtime. I've cooked some stuffed vegetables for the next few lunches and roasted some cauliflower so not a totally lazy day :D

Procrastinator I'm glad you enjoyed the opera, I've only watch the occasional live one at our local theatre but i do watch the ones screened from the Met in NY.

Jackrabbit I imagine for a 16 year old no internet was a major event

    B-
L - roasted cauliflower and fennel followed by an apple
D - lambs liver, root veg mash, purple sprouting, runner beans
S - I've been cooking so some picking

    Evening All

Well I very much enjoyed my fish and chips, it was delicious. Did a bit of ironing today and the had to walk round Sainsb@ry's to collect a Tu order, some bits in the sale for the kids, then round to pick the kids ups from Karate, so plenty of steps today.
Was surprised by a knock at the door around 4, it was a delivery of an exercise bike that dh had ordered for me, I have wanted one for awhile but was dithering, I think he got fed up with my indecisiveness!
Anyway I shall have no excuse now as I can peddle away in the evening after work and hopefully that should help.

Jackrabbit, hope your cold clears up quickly, enjoy the cake x

Glad you enjoyed the opera procrastinator, I have never been to the opera either, I do like the theatre and we go to the globe now and then as dd likes it and standing tickets are only £5.

Dd does like to bake, but she doesn't really cook meals, chilli is her only meal, I think that it's because it's her favourite ;)

    Hi all
Well done to all losers and STS-ers:)
I’m going to skip weigh in tomorrow if that’s ok? Been a stressful week one way and another and all good intentions went out of the window - although I did manage 3 gym sessions.
Will get my head together tomorrow and get back in the game, but don’t feel I need the disappointment of being confronted with a gain right now! :o
Wishing you all a good week!

Good idea to skip, I think. It can be quite disheartening when you gain and puts you off for the whole week, and really it is about long term change, not just one week.
I am sure we all go up and down unless we are rabidly dieting.
Good luck for next time.

    Today's food...

    Potato cakes. Raspberries and yogurt.

    Egg chips and beans

Shortbread. (but only a couple this time.)
  • Hi
