It seems to be one of those weekends at the moment. Nothing major but lots of annoyances.
I broke my watch yesterday, snapped the strap. My kindle obviously is still playing up, though I'm going to try it without the case, as it's a case which has a light in it, running off the battery, so maybe I can make it stretch a bit longer when I don't need the light. Today I got up and couldn't hear any noise from the fridge/freezer, so I was worried that had died (it's nearly 16 years old), but luckily it seems to have revived. I don't mind having to replace it, but want to do it in my own time, without losing a lot of food in the process!
Little miss sorted out some stuff yesterday to go, and has reclaimed half of it this morning. 🙄 I'll just celebrate that some stuff is still going!
Little miss has gone up a level at swimming today, hurrah! Unfortunately I can't find a lesson that suits, so she might have to miss parkrun for a while. She's not impressed. I'll check again in the week in case they've had a flurry of children move around this weekend and maybe some more places appear.
Little jwil is going to a halloween party later, and little miss is disappointed that she's not doing anything, so I'll see if I can sort something. We've done pumpkins and had some treats. She likes to celebrate occasions whatever they are.
I've booked my covid booster jab today. I was looking online and it says that if you are in one of the categories and 6 months plus one week past your 2nd jab then you can try and book online. I gave it a go and it worked!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -
Glad you got your boost booked. I should be able to as well before the end of November.
Kids desires are hard to juggle sometimes. You do a grand job I'm sure.
Sorry your kindle is still playing up.
If it's any consolation - I finished work early Friday - but now need to catch up... It's pouring down here and windy today though whereas Friday was bright and fine so it was a good trade - but still always hard to make yourself do. I have orange cake and roast potatoes - both are slightly overcooked but were still tasty... I have some left... Want a piece?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

My anxiety has reared it's head again I think. I'm feeling very overwhelmed with stuff and have very little motivation to do anything. I think the seasons changing doesn't help either. I'm always worse in winter.
I'm just going to try and force myself to do something every day, to reduce the 'to do' list in my head and keep on top of things."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -

Is there any way of getting some of that alone time we talked about on my diary? I've done the odd B&B night by myself before. It does help. If you did 2 nights as a block then you get use of the place more during the day too. It can be quite cheap for one...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

My kindle battery seems to be dying too. It's not holding charge at all at the moment. I've had it since 2010 so it's done me well. I'm hoping I can keep it going until Christmas and then DH says he'll get me a replacement. I can use the Ipad if I get desperate, but I prefer the kindle as it doesn't feel like a screen in the same way as the tablet does. I've also got loads of books on there which I haven't bought through amazon, so I don't want it to die until I've got through those as it will be a faff getting them on a new device.
You may be already aware but you can back up the non Amazon books to your computer/laptop then upload to your new device.
Kindle fires are usually about £40 on black Friday, I like to have a spare.... The battery life isn't as good as a classic but they double up as an inexpensive tablet (their primary purpose really) so in the days we could travel I found it really useful for looking things up - opening times of museums, bus times etc4
