What a lovely post @jwil…well done, I’m proud of you ⭐️I’m currently trying to get out of that mindset and also out of saving the good clothes for best, but it’s really hard. Why shouldn’t we wear bright things we love? I want to be one of those old ladies flouncing about in whatever the heck they want…I have a little time to work on this 😬 The first step is always to love yourself more than caring about what others might think…and why shouldn’t/wouldn’t we love ourselves? The world has done some crazy conditioning on us all hasn’t it!Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Thank you all for your lovely comments you are all amazing 😘😘
I feel like it's a huge change for me, and I'm not fully there yet. You'll not see me strutting in my bikini top and hotpants 😆😆
However, I want to stop hiding in black tents, as WinterWarrior says, I want to wear bright and cheery clothes and stop worrying about the state of my legs, tummy and arms. I actually wore a dress the other day, with thin straps!
Little miss wanted me to go round one of her laps of parkrun with her on Sunday, and I did. The kids have also missed out because I don't want to do stuff. It was so blooming hot though, couldn't I have my realisation when it's cooler? 🥵😂"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I saw a quote last week - the beach'll get whatever body I give it.
No bikini for me. Mum got me to try one when I was joining her for swimming lessons - she started when she was 40 and I was 19. When I first went to be fitted for a bra, the lady said I was going to have problems as I had a very narrow back and was going to have a full bosom. So we went to a shop which supposedly had swimwear in cup sizes. I was a C-cup at the time. Tried on a bikini and it was horrendous. Wire and a bit of fabric and I felt extremely vulnerable - no way was I going for swimming lessons and having to scoop my bosom back into the cups every time I tried to move. Bought a lovely costume instead. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
