"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Hope everyone is well! Happy weekend, and happy holidays! I've got another week before I've got some time off, but it will be nice not having to do the school run.
The kids have had a lovely end of year, and they have had wonderful reports, so we are very proud.
Because it's been so hot they've been in PE kits all week, so I've sorted, washed and bagged up all the uniform that we won't be reusing next year, and I donated it to the school this morning. I'm very proud of my organisation, it won't be hanging around all summer nowI dropped another bag of clothes in the charity bank at the school too.
I was feeling pretty rough with the heat yesterday, so thankfully it hasn't been quite so hot today and there's been more of a breeze. It's meant to break later today as well but we are now on a weather warning for torrential rain.
I cleaned around today during my lunch break, it's probably the last time the house will be tidy for a while!
Not planning to do much this weekend, probably trying to sort through the piles of schoolwork and paperwork that has been brought home. I'm going to get the kids to have a go at their toys over the holidays as well. Hopefully they'll identify some to go. I'm going to be organised and see what I need to get for September too, as I've donated nearly everything so I've got no backstop
I've got some listing to do as well. I'm going to list a couple of tops that I bought. I like the style, but they are not particularly comfortable wearing them, so in the interest of wearing stuff that makes me happy and comfortable I shall try and sell them on and not keep them for the sake of it."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Just catching up and had to comment to say I love the positivity! If you have clothes that you enjoy I'm sure it will reflect in how you feel and how you come across.
Great work on the school clothes too, there are some advantages to the melting heat, and someone will get the peace of mind of getting ahead with uniform because of you.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I definitely feel better when I eat better and look after myself. You'd think I'd learn 🙄

We had a nice weekend. The weather wasn't as bad as it was forecast thankfully. Little miss demanded we do some baking on Saturday, so that was done. On Sunday we went out fruit picking. We now have strawberries, raspberries, loganberries, gooseberries and rhubarb! No excuse for not eating healthily
I'm getting the kids to do a bit of sorting this week, just a small bit each day. Today they did comics and colouring books, so I need to look though those and see what can be donated and what just needs to go for recycling."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". You're making me jealous with your swift organisation. I haven't worked out uniform yet. It all sort of fits still. Like just fits. So I'm going to wait and get them to try it on later. I'm wondering if I can make it last til Christmas. I expect I'll get unstuck in October.
I can't get through comics and colouring in either. It all feels like a waste to get rid of. Oh! And stickers. We have a whole drawer of stickers.
Very pleased with your attitude towards your self and your clothes. Definitely the right way. You deserve to feel happy in your clothes as you are.
