Just catching up with your diary. You're doing amazingly well. Congratulations on getting rid of another debt and the decluttering.Glad you managed to have some child & husband free time at home. Sitting in the sun alone sounds lovely.I agree about the girls clothing being small (In so many ways). I absolutely hate girls shorts. I can never understand why they are all short shorts and not knee length like boys ones! We always have to buy cropped leggings instead of the shorts. Also don't understand why many of the girls tops for sale at the moment are so short too. Don't really want my girls flashing their belly's off to everyone.
Hope you have a great rest of the week. Keep up the good work 😊.LBM Aug 2017.

Yes, definitely about shorts! I buy cycle short style which are knee length, Sainsbury's usually have a selection. I hate short shorts. And also the short t-shirts too. My kids are kids, not mini adults and need to dress so they can run around, jump about, climb things etc. Dresses are so short too, little miss is quite tall anyway, and nearly always needs to wear shorts under dresses otherwise she's constantly flashing her pants (which are also really thin compared to boys!)."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Happy weekend everyone
It is meltingly hot. I've switched little jwil's swimming lessons, so today is the last day he will be in the middle of the day on a Saturday. That will free us up to do other stuff at the weekends, and to be able to go out for the day. I'm on swimming duty this weekend, and we thought that later this afternoon we might head out and have a chippy tea at the coast.
Hope everyone has a good one"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Hope everyone is well. Not much to report here, just working, melting and spending 🙄
I've bought some more of the cooling pads - the JML one is by far the best out of those I have bought. I've bought a couple of audio books and a few other bits as well. A couple more items of clothing for me too.
I'm counting down now til the holidays at the end of the week. Just hoping we make it through without the kids being sent home to isolate. I've got two weeks off in August so I'm very much looking forward to that.
I've had a bit of a 'moment' recently. I'm working on self acceptance and body positivity. I'm not getting away from the fact that I am morbidly obese and need to lose weight, but I am accepting that this is the way I currently am, and I am going to be positive about it and stop beating myself up. I am fed up with hiding away, being embarrassed, and trying to cover up. I am going to wear what makes me happy, and feel comfortable and if anyone has a problem with that, then it's their problem not mine. I'm also going to stop 'waiting until I've lost weight' before doing stuff or buying new clothes. Hence purchasing a few more items. At some point this summer, I am also going to go to the beach and swim in the sea. I haven't done this for years because I didn't want to be on the beach in a swimming costume.
I've been gently working on this over the last few weeks and it's really making a difference to me. I feel better as I'm wearing stuff that makes me feel ok, I'm feeling more confident, and I'm more confident in my abilities at work, with less feeling paranoid and trying to hide away. I've not been feeling so nervous about going into meetings with people I don't know, and am happy to put on my video on online calls.
Ironically it may help me improve my health as if I feel better about myself I may not comfort eat so much, and if I'm not worrying about what others might think, then I'm more likely to be active and do things.
I think my mental health has improved so much since the start of the year, and the meds have made such a difference, it's opened things up for me to make these changes. Long may it last.
