Today I started work at 5.30 and am having a break before I go back to it. A big deadline today and so I need to complete but at least that will be the end of a heavy few months. (Hence I was hoping to have those days to myself).
I did have to take little jwil for a PCR test this morning - the public health team have said that the whole year needs to take them even though they are not symptomatic. Hopefully we'll get a good result tomorrow. However, they still have to isolate even if it's negative. He's not allowed on school grounds so I have to take him in the car and leave him there while I drop little miss off.
We've also received the national Ipsos survey PCR test for him, so I'll give it a couple of days and then do that one, and at least we'll have confirmation then.
Hope everyone is well"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -

Hope everyone is well. It's been a hectic week with home school, little miss at school and work!
Luckily we have all remained healthy, there was an additional case in the year, (and a sibling, so another year now has to isolate) and I found out it was actually little jwil's class the cases were in. He's tested negative on 2 x pcrs 5 days apart (One asked by the school, and the other one the national survey), and I did a LFT yesterday on him which was also negative, so I think we've managed to avoid it. He's in isolation until the end of tomorrow and then he can go back to school on Monday.
I'm attempting my 2 days off again this week, fingers crossed I manage it this time!
DH has been to the optician today, I've been nagging him to go as last time he was asked to go back after a year to check something, and he's been putting it off because he was anxious. He's over 6 months late. As ever, he should have listened to me 😆, as he was given the all clear (thankfully!).
I've been tidying around today and cleaning up in the hope that I won't have too much to do if I do manage to get my days this week. If I've got a tidy starting point, I can get on with what I need/want to.
We've had our TV aerial replaced, so our TV works properly now. Not one of the big jobs that needed doing, but an annoyance that can be ticked off the list (and a tradesperson who turned up when they said they would!!). The aerial chap has recommended an electrician, so we will give them a go.
DH has been sorting out some more today, and for the first time in years, we have a spare bedroom! It's still got loads of stuff in there, but the bed is finally accessible. 👏👏 It needs lots doing to it, but at least I finally have somewhere I can go if DH's snoring is bothering me. Little miss wants to claim it for herself, but it needs a lot of work before we get to that stage. I might get the electrician to quote for doing that at the same time as the kids room.
I'm hoping we hear from the window company soon regarding the kids bedroom window. We must be around the 12 week mark they were expecting.
I'm doing some listing at the moment, try and get rid of some more stuff!
