Its not that long since I was given some books to sell and found a couple of Mallory Towers stories which just had to be read.WinterWarrior said:Can we also add in all the Narnia books, pure escapism. I love all the nostalgic book talk.
My favourites are the Madeleine books...I've never read the Madeleine books, but they look good, so I shall keep an eye out for them. Thank you!

Hope everyone is well. I had my follow up call with the GP earlier, but I've been feeling a bit better again the last couple of days, so hopefully it will last.
Work is still very busy. Some interesting stuff going on though so that's good. A lot of frustration on other matters though!
Just spotted that Bosch is back on Prime next month, I love that series and the books, so I can't wait! I've just started reading the 'Odd Thomas' series by Dean Koontz, and they are pretty good. I've also been watching Superstore and am quite enjoying that as a bit of light relief.
I'm also thinking if I keep my spends to a minimum this month, and try and keep the grocery bill down, I might be able to pay back the last bit of the car at the end of the month! That will be a debt cleared and DH will have his savings back"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Happy weekend everyone
I worked this morning, trying to have some peace to concentrate without the distraction of emails, calls and meetings. I did manage to get some stuff done. I might have another go tomorrow, but will probably try and have the day off. I'll have to get my hours back from today as it is, and still owed from when I worked over Easter.
Yesterday I went to get my prescription to find it wasn't ready. Whilst i was out I stopped at the sorting office to try and drop off the RM parcels that my PO wouldn't accept. They wouldn't accept them either so I've been told I don't have to do parcels any more, hurrah! It's much easier just chucking stuff in the post box. That was a waste of time though!
Last year I got a letter from my biggest creditor saying they hadn't treated me well when I was in difficulty and they credited a refund to my account of just over £100. At the time, I noticed that it took ages for it to update on my credit report, and at the time I was going to finally complain, I spotted that it had been applied, so I didn't bother. Well yesterday, I got another letter from them apologising for it taking so long to credit the refund, and saying they will send me £50 for the distressI am very happy about that! I don't know if they are sending me the cheque or crediting the account, but I'm very happy either way!

Very annoyingly my iPad has died. It won't switch on or charge
I've only had it 3 months. I'm awaiting a box to send it off to Apple for repair after using their live chat today. It was fine last week when I used it, and I just assumed it needed charging, but I tried 3 different chargers and left it on charge for a few hours, but nothing

Oh no! After 3 months they should just replace it rather than repair...it’s much too new for that! If you bought it from a shop they may just switch it out? It’s always worth a try. I would be trying the ‘not fit for purpose’ route. ☹️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I'm pleased about the £50, but annoyed about the ipad. Luckily I don't use it all the time.

It's absolutely chucking it down here, but little miss still wants to do parkrun after swimming. I love her determination even if I don't fancy standing in a wet, muddy field! I will always do my best to let her go if I can though. She says she's quite happy to go around on her own, although DH will be there today so he can go with her.
We've got to drop DH's car to the garage today to have the brakes fixed. Hopefully that will be it for the car bills for now!
I've got a few listings to do, but don't plan on doing a lot else today otherwise.
Have a good day everyone"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4
