I just use my Fitbit for the time these days, it serves a dual purpose of telling me the time whilst also showing me how woefully disappointing my step count is 😬

I hope you feel better soon.I had a cheap version of a fitbit a few years ago, and it annoyed me that I needed to switch it on to get the time. I prefer a watch that I can glance at. The watch was only £15 before vouchers, so I didn't break the bank
I use my phone for the step count but I don't look that often as it's too low

When I was young I only knew one other person that read chalet school books but I've found quite a few more readers now that I'm in my fifties. If I found one that I haven't read I'd still buy it. I have to admit to a fondness for old style books - Angela Brazil, The Abbey Girls and I do recall the Bobbsey twins too. Malory Towers and St Clares anyone?
Well done to Little Miss. I've been trying to talk myself into doing a parkrun for the last 3 years! Sorry you're not feeling too good.

Another vote here for Mallory Towers and St Clares. Its not that long since I was given some books to sell and found a couple of Mallory Towers stories which just had to be read.

Can we also add in all the Narnia books, pure escapism. When I was younger still Milly Molly Mandy was a great favourite too ❤️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Sorry your anxiety is creeping up.
I love all the nostalgic book talk.
My favourites are the Madeleine books...
