Thank youI love talking about books and hearing what others are reading.

Today I have heard that the ipad has arrived, they've looked at it and are sending me a replacement. Woo hoo! I'm relieved more than anything else that it must have been knackered and not me being a numpty
It's so annoying though, one of the reasons I bought it was because I knew there were a load of big consultations coming out for work and I wanted to use it to read through them away from the laptop. Well this has coincided with the consultations, so I can't use it for the big thing I wanted to! Hopefully the replacement won't take too long.
I won £10 on the lottery, so that will be sent to the mortgage. I've also had a money shuffle and condensed a lot of my pots, which means I now have my emergency fund with £1,000 in it! I've never had that before (apart from payday) and it's so exciting, I keep logging in to look at itCovid combined with my inherent laziness has done wonders for my finances as I am spending so much less because even if I want to buy something I generally can't be bothered to go to a shop to get it
I do use online, but because I'm spending so much time on screens at home while working, I make more of an effort to stay off them after work and I don't tend to shop or browse when I'm scrolling on my phone or ipad, I prefer to use the laptop. It does show how much I've wasted before though! Of course I am also saving on childcare and petrol which helps a lot.

If I found one that I haven't read I'd still buy it. I have to admit to a fondness for old style books - Angela Brazil, The Abbey Girls and I do recall the Bobbsey twins too. Malory Towers and St Clares anyone?
Well done to Little Miss. I've been trying to talk myself into doing a parkrun for the last 3 years! Sorry you're not feeling too good.7 -
School stories, that is. Love Malory Towers and St Clare's. Though I have to ask, what school would stay open once the goings-on came out? Girls shimmying up sheets tied to drain pipes to rescue others from burning buildings where the fire brigade is waiting for tall ladders to arrive; clinging onto cliffs while the sea rages below; nearly drowning several times; and wasn't there also a kidnap plot? Ah well, good clean open air fun to take our minds off everything else!5
