Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

My goodness I am a machine. Z00m meeting went on so long it took 2 separate sessions and I have another meeting at 8am tomorrow. Then I changed the beds and washed 1 load, and went out for my daily walk on my own into town where I stocked up on enough beige food to last the kids for a while - almost fancied some cross cut chips myself today. Brought the dry washing in and then unbelievably felt ready to tackle some more work. We have begun the unpleasant task of teacher assessment and grading for our Year 11 leavers. It's going to take a lot longer than I thought but I want to make sure I get it right, or as right as I can so I've done a couple of hours on it tonight before tomorrow's 8am Z00m.
Now how on Earth do I get my head back into the healthy eating game? If a packet of reduced mini eggs counts as healthy eating I'm on it, but I don't think I can get away with it. F0xh0les - share your secrets with me... please.

Morning.
Z00m done. I didn't bother dressing up - I'm in fluffy cat pyjamas and wrapped in a blanket, deciding the future of my GCSE students (ever the professional)… It feels like a fairly massive responsibility actually because I'm used to marking and grading anonymous kids work - not the kids I've grown to know and love over 5 years. Ah well. I still have my integrity intact though and know I've done the best I can for the kids based on what they were doing.
Two cups of tea down, grey day outside and I have bedding I want to hang out to dry - better check the weather before I make that decision. Other plans for today - some schoolwork for me, lots of schoolwork for my children, daily walk, attempt healthy eating.
Same old same old.

it may feel like a massive responsibility CCL but you are definitely the best person for the job because you are used to doing it impartially & so for that are definitely allowed to do it in your pjs!

So, on 20th April I booked my car into the garage. One of my windscreen washers had stopped working, and my attempts to unblock with a pin and a can of compressed air had failed miserably. The live chat man on the web said I was booked in and could come along today as I'm a key worker.
Last week on Monday I got a text telling me that they were only seeing key workers at the moment so they would need to rearrange my booking and could I ring them. After 3 failed attempts to call them (I was being told I was being put on hold but kept getting cut off), I went back on the webchat, and asked if someone could call me - which they did within a few minutes. I explained I was a key worker and what the problem was and she said that was fine and to bring it as planned and they would even order a new washer jet in case it needed it. No problem. On Monday this week I got a call from the garage asking me to rearrange as they are only seeing key workers at the moment, so I explained again and was told to bring the car as planned today at 9am. So, arrived at 9am today - they only found out yesterday(?) that I was coming and the part hadn't arrived. What a palaver for a blocked washer jet. We ended up in a bit of a heated exchange where the girl in the garage seemed to think I was having a go while I was trying to explain that I would book it in at a later date but I couldn't leave the car as I live 10 miles away. Anyway, the technician took the car while this was going on and came and told me the whole unit needs replacing.Thankfully, the part arrived while this was going on as well so they did it there and then, while I waited outside. Took less than an hour, but I am a little pleased that it wasn't something that I could have fixed myself with a bit more knowledge - and thankfully covered under warranty as well. Normally the garage are fantastic so I can forgive them in these stressy times but I don't think the fact that I have a resting b**ch face and a teacher voice helps anything. I think I look and sound annoyed even if I'm smiling and laughing. If I'd known it would be about 40 minutes I would have gone for a walk, but they said 10 mins - so walk will have to continue as normal later. And that dear readers, has been the most eventful thing in my life this week... really.
Home now and just about to do the minimum amount of work required for today - I've done a load of schoolwork over the past 2 days so I will not feel guilty if it's only a couple of hours today. I also have an all day meeting tomorrow, and will work on Friday if I need to, even though it's bank holiday.
Diet went well yesterday, and I tend to find that one good day leads to another so hoping for more of the same today. And more of the other same stuff, feeding my children, being a teacher three times over, cleaning, washing and catering to the felines.
Stay safe out there lovelies...

Resting !!!!!! face and teacher voice. So familiar with that combination. Does often get things done tho!
In an attempt to get some sort of routine into my life I am having coffee (bleugh but might find one I like) every day at 5 with Mum and having Sunday's OFF from work and housework. I am so used to working all the time and getting my down time out of the house it is really hard to get any kind of balance.
I have done my grades, felt horrible but had to be done.
XXXXXXNevertheless she persisted.9 -
I don't get tax credits f0xh0les - I'm over the threshold.
Although actually I'm really happy that I don't have to deal with them - the stress of that would send me into heart attack territory.
