Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

Sounds as though you are doing great CCL
I am no good at getting up late either, and am always up before 6, and even earlier if I can atm, to enable me to get out for a little walk before there is anyone else much about.

Isn't it strange foxgloves and Dawn? I'm turning into my mother - I always feel as though I want more sleep then when I get it I feel awful. I don't think it takes me 2 cups of tea to get going - just 1 if I'm up at the right time. And I confess to enjoying a bit of time to myself before either of the kids show their faces in the morning (or afternoon in dd's case).
I have downloaded Duolingo - thanks for telling me about it, and spent an afternoon in the garden with dd remembering how bad I am at grammar whether it's English, French or German. We're working on pronunciation. Our north east England accent lends itself better to German than French but I'm getting there slowly with DD.
Didn't bother cutting the grass because I got a text from my gardener this morning saying he's coming back next week if I still want him. Absolutely do. So I'll make sure me and the kids are out on our daily walk while he's here so we don't come into any contact at all. So went with dd for a walk after lunch. She's not having a good mood day today so me being such an excellent mother - I forced her out for some 'fresh air'. It picked her up a bit but she's been a bit down. Her best friend sent her some chocolates in the post because she's missing her, and I know she's desperate to see her boyfriend.
One thing I did notice when I was out today - way more cars on the road than I've seen for a couple of weeks. I think people are getting fed up with the whole situation, along with today being warm for the first time this week. It scares me more than it should but just makes me more determined that I'm going to keep me and the kids out of everyone's way.

I was just saying the same thing to dh on Monday - traffic is up loads, and all week whenever we have been out on't pavement the cars whizzing past the end of the road is like a 'normal' day.The local big Mr M's has abandoned the queue outside today, and it is now a total free-for-all in there. The locals are up in arms about it.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

What an interesting observation about getting up time. I get up at normal ( term time) time on Mondays when I go into work and get so much more done.

Definitely something in this. While I was working i was always up between 5.30 and 6 am and if I don't do that even now I feel off throughout the day. And in the winter i have to be out of bed before the heating kicks in or I get headaches and feel as though I have a hangover even though I rarely drink.11

Well - it was 7.45 when I got up this morning. Late. BUT, I was woken at 2.30 am by the sound of NT1 throwing up at the bottom of the bed. Thankfully, she did it on an old towel that she likes sleeping on but obviously I had to move the towel and put another one down for her. Then I could not get back to sleep. It was 5.20 when I last looked at my watch and said to myself that if I was still awake at half past then I would give up and get up. Anyway, next time I looked at my watch it was 7.45. I haven't decided how I'm feeling yet - but first cuppa is still in progress. However, I've also sorted out recycling, cat litter trays and fed the cats before I've sat down. Kids both still asleep so time for myself. Weather is very grey this morning but according to the beeb it's going to brighten up later on so I might hang the washing out next - particularly as I have some pukey towels to wash pretty urgently.
Today's plans... well it's Saturday but I think I will do a couple of hours of school work just to keep me in routine and make up for only doing part days during the week. I will do the daily walk (state mandated walk as my sister calls it) but I've also written a long jobs list and am planning to get the kids involved here as well because we're all in this together. My brain is telling me to go walking now while it's so grey outside because there will be fewer people about but I'm not dressed yet and I'm not properly awake either. Also need to get my crojo back a bit - that's taken a bit of a back seat, plus I have some very important reading to do - exam related stuff. So I need to start on that.

Really grey, chilly & overcast here first thing too, CCL, but I pegged my laundry out & I'm glad I did because the sun is now trying to make an appearance. Just popped in for coffee..... back off to greenhouse now.

Hate it when the cats throw up, ours went through a phase a few weeks ago where she was sick during the night (but fine during the day) and always in the bedroom near me !Sealed pot challenge 822

Went out for a walk with ds this afternoon - definitely loads of traffic on the road. More than I've seen in a month I think.
Done loads of crochet, all the housework jobs, got most of my washing done and dry, finished watching Glitch, but I didn't do any schoolwork or the essential reading yet. Not too urgent though, it is Saturday.
Finances are dire. Never mind - almost payday.
