Hi all
Just a quick check in. Still tired, still struggling with sleep and still desperately trying to make it to the end of Thursday in one piece. Work is quite tough - not going to lie - and there still doesn't seem to be much of an end in sight. There seems to be some school politics coming into play now and I feel a bit caught in the middle of a situation that isn't really within my control. I just hope that nothing hits the fan before the end of Thursday and everything calms down a bit over the holidays. I hate confrontation and fighting and arguing, which is why I suppose I've gotten so good at being a doormat over the years. I just hate tension and bad feeling, so I'm normally quite quick to back down if I sense things going wrong. However, this escalation isn't really anything to do with me - it's between two of my colleagues and I'm in the middle of it.
I would actually swear if it wouldn't get !!!!! out on here because I'm so worried that I'll somehow end up getting the blame for all of this. Insomnia and paranoia aren't the best of combinations.
Anyway. On the plus side, the sun is out and it's a beautiful day outside. Might even be able to force myself to go for a walk after school. It will clear my head a bit I think. I'm not teaching today - I'm involved with interviews. Which is usually a welcome change but at the moment it's all being done over Z00m and I'm stuck in a hot and pokey office on my own so it's not the experience it usually is. Two more get ups - I must be able to get through this And it's my birthday tomorrow - and falling out on my birthday is not allowed.
Oh. And I got a magic bag with cherries in it. I've never been keen on them as a 'just eat' sort of fruit and they're v expensive too. So I don't buy them. But now I have some. What should I do with them? This is of course assuming that they are cherries and I'm not hopelessly misguided like I was last time with the sloes/currants. I like cherry puds... may have to google.

Firstly happy birthday for tomorrow🎂🥳.  Secondly, if you have some cherries I can highly recommend chocolate & cherry brownies. If I can locate the recipe  later I’ll post it. They are so so so moreish!!

I would jut eat the cherries. I love them. But like you say they are so expensive. 
Re work - Just make sure you have an e mail trail if you do think you need covering. It is hard i think when you like the people you work with - this is new experience for me! but if things get tricky it is even worse when it is with your friends. There are a lot of changes at my place and I am trying very hard to make my own way without getting involved in anything. It isn't easy tho and like you I don't like confrontation, work is my safe place. XX

Hello all.
Thank you for the birthday wishes. It's been a lovely day and I've enjoyed it much more than I was expecting to... there was no drama - just lots of good wishes, cake, chocolates and gin. It's like people know me!!!! Makes me think that I'm going to be able to get through the day tomorrow and make it to the hols in one piece.
I have been very spoilt and I'm very lucky.
