Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

Can someone please get me to the end of term in one piece? I can't remember the last time I was this tired and there are still four more days to do. I suppose that there's been so much change over the past year to education and schooling - you just get used to one thing and then something else happens. It's not the job I remember it being and I am a bit worried that I'm starting to fall out of love with teaching. I hope it's just temporary and because of everything that the past year has brought because I usually love being a teacher. It's just so very hard at the moment with this much uncertainty and no end in sight. And so much to do that's out of the ordinary... testing, masks, teaching with masks, assessments that aren't exams, behaviour, mental trauma etc etc etc. The mood is low and people are fractious. I seem to have fallen out with more people than I can remember this week - and I'm a sensitive soul so that gets to me as well. I'm back to feeling stressed and guilty about everything again.
And I've started waking up lots during the night again as well. I seem to be awake every hour - not for long, but it does mean that I'm not getting much in the way of restful sleep, which doesn't help the mood either. Meh.
To make matters worse, my kids have finished for Easter and I haven't. How rude. I tried to have a lie in this morning but couldn't manage and was up by 7.15. I've done some housework - cleared and wiped the kitchen, sorted cat litter trays, cleared rubbish and recycling and hoovered right through. Plus I roasted a joint of pork and for the first time ever I successfully made crackling. I'm very impressed with myself. I haven't bothered to make anything else to go with it just yet though as I'm so lazy. I went out to meet bestie for a walk and a catch up. She works in the nhs and is finding work tough at the moment as well so we had a good bit of a moan to each other.
So lots still to do. Bathroom and food mainly but I feel as though I could sleep standing up I'm so tired.
And fed up. I really feel like I can't go on much longer like this. I know it's a global thing but I really have had enough now.Not giving up

Time to take back control

((((HUGS))))You remember that twit told us if we were all good little citizens, we could have Xmas at Easter with all the family? Well here we are, and it is going to be 2 households max as long as you are outdoors and not more than 6 people. Because there are 6 of us, we get to see .... each other! Can't wait!We finished school on Friday, and there is no difference apart from no school run - the kids have lessons Mon-Thurs the first week and Tues-Fri the second week on Team$. It is now officially totally flippin' annoying, and I probably wont even be offered a vax until May. It is really really hard not to be fed up. So have some more ((((hugs)))) from me - at a suitable social distance, of course.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

One more week to go here too. It must be a nightmare teaching in a mask all day...I’m primary, so only have to wear masks anywhere outside of my classroom. We had the clear visor shield type face coverings sent ( I think) by the government in the PPE packs last June. Are you able to wear them?
Can you do Easter end of term quiz like lessons? Would that help preserve energy?paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

fOxhOles, just to say I thought the new rules from Monday are that 6 people OR two households can meet outside, i.e. two households no matter how many people.
Please check this, but I think there may be scope for your family to see someone else!

The two household bit is to stop you meeting 5 people from other households and saying you are still only 6 people. @still_hopeful on Monday the new rules are:family and friends can reunite in groups of no more than six outdoors, paving the way for picnics and barbecues. There is a lot of variation between Scotland and Wales and England, with some kids allowed to mix and not being included but as my youngest is 11, nope, we can see each other! yay! There are some separate rules for 'parent and children' groups meeting up outdoors, which are allowed up to 15, but that is for toddler groups and younger kids or proper organised Sports groups.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I'm still sure larger households can meet, and in fact that one person could indeed meet another 5 people all from different households.
I have seen this on many reputable sites. I will see if I can find it on a government website, but here is a link from the Independent https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/when-meet-six-friends-roadmap-b1815141.html6 -
This should help @foxholes
From 29 March:
- you will be able to meet outdoors either in a group of 6 (from any number of households) or in a group of any size from up to 2 households (each household can include existing support bubbles, if eligible)

Wow! a group of any size from a household + support bubble x 2 outside none of whom have been vaccinated, well that sounds utterly sensible to me. Why did they not do that before? I mean, what's the worst that could happen?4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
