What a palaver with Asda, hope you get some good compensation!

  • Boo Hiss - I'm not feeling very well today. :( I had a rough night and have had a headache and grumpy tummy all day. I had intended to nap some but I've been a bit too busy to relax - exam deadlines are beginning to loom in the background - end of the week. Plus I've had tutoring today as well...
So after a rough night I got up at half seven. Wanted to crack on with marking but just felt rubbish so had a cuppa and watched a bit of telly. Spoke to my team leader, then headed off for tutoring. After that, picked the kids up and headed to my mam's house for lunch and a catch up. My mam was also quite tired today so a bit grumpy as well, but nice to have a chat with her. I think she's settling into retirement - making arrangements to see friends and keep busy, which is a massive improvement on when she first retired, so that's nice to see.
Got home and have cracked on with marking, it's been slow progress, but progress nonetheless. I do a bit of marking, then a little house job just to break things up. So I've washed dishes, done washing, hoovered and still need to shower, put dinner monies out for the kids, tidy up a bit, put the cat food away - and I really want to get an early night. I need to break up the marking work into the 5 days of marking I have left, and it still looks like quite a lot. But not unmanageable.
Small MSE victory - I finally got hold of the kids old mobile phones and got a trade in/recycling price for them. Should have almost £60 winging its way to me when I send it. Which I will pay straight off the CC.

That's good news on the old phones, CCL. Mr F keeps saying he's going to try & get a price on our drawer full of old phones plus other stuff like an ancient x-box. He keeps not getting round to it but he has a week off in Feb & I'm hoping it might all be decluttered then.
About £25 just paid across from PayPal from the box of books & films we sold to Ziffit recently & £48 for me from a survey site cash-out. All these bits & pieces come in useful & decluttering is always good.
Hope you manage to get your early night.

  • Hello
I'm checking in early today from work - my Year 11 are in a mock exam and I think I'm just about ready for teaching tomorrow. As I need to spend the whole evening marking then I thought it would be worth checking in on here now, so it's one less thing to think about later when I have to work on exam stuff.
Still won't be a very long one though because there's not much to report since yesterday evening other than a bit of a deterioration in my mental health due to tiredness. I went to bed before 10pm last night but unfortunately was up on six separate occasions for various reasons. As such I am really suffering today - my paranoia and low self esteem are out there for the whole world to see. I was tearful just driving in to school and have gotten it into my head that everyone clearly hates me. I know it's mostly tiredness but it's really hard to talk yourself out of this kind of mood once it hits you.
Head of department was in this morning then got called out very early to go and collect his sick child from school - welcome to my world. Anyway, I have been left in charge at very short notice, which is always a bit scary. On top of that I've had to ring a couple of parents about various things, and I have to take someone on a tour of the school tonight (we're recruiting and I have literally no idea what I'm doing :rotfl:). I do just want to go home and get on with my marking. The sooner I start, the sooner I'll finish, and I now only have 4 days for one paper and 5 for the other. With still quite a lot to do.
Bank balance is depressing me already. I need to make more cutbacks but I just can't seem to see where at the moment. Hopefully tomorrow will deliver news that I don't have to keep paying the solicitor and that it's finally done with. Then the real hard work will commence.

  • According to my 'smart' watch - I had a higher quality of sleep last night. Wish someone would tell my body that :rotfl: I still have a headache and still feel awfully run down. However I was in bed not long after 10 and when I was up I got straight back to sleep again.
Marked like a machine all evening and am down to 25 long papers, 44 essay answers and 115 short papers to do in the next 3 nights. I hope I can get the essays and at least 20 short papers done tonight.
Tried so hard not to get my hopes up this afternoon but unfortunately they are well and truly up - I really just want an end to it now and the meaningless chucking money after everything to try and make sure that me and the kids are looked after in the future. Will be heading off soon, and no matter what happens I will make the effort to report in tonight with an update for you all.
Think my headache might have been low blood sugar - just had a chocolate shake and instantly feeling a little better. Wish me luck please!
