Where on Earth did that year go foxgloves? It was a lovely time as well... those gorgeous biscuits and that amazing coffee shop that you have so close. I promise/threaten to do it again if normality ever resumes.

The stress level at the F0xh0les Campus of L'Shire University is off the scale too CCL.  He just can't turn off - I am insisting on him having 20 minutes for lunch with me - at the table in the kitchen-  no screens allowed,  and  a 5pm knock off.  

One module has 140 students, first written assessments due in end of  Nov and 2nd assessment due in seconds before the Xmas break.  So can you guess who is marking all over Xmas again?  then the 2nd marking of other people,  and the late submissions, and the plagiarism cases  and picking up the work of those calling in ill, cue the ranting!  I  feel your pain.    But financially you will be better off after Xmas with all the Exam Board stuff won't you? Focus on that... Keep on swimming, keep on swimming...

You know when you think it can't get worse then it does? We lost another 2 from our department today - that's 5 out of 11 either sick or isolating. It's a pain in the backside and breaking those of us left behind. I woke up this morning and properly had to force myself out of bed. I've worked all day and still had to bring work home with me tonight as well. Ah well. I want to say that it can't go on for ever, but something is going to break and it had better not be me... 
I just can't fit everything into the day now. It's too hard. I need to teach lessons, set remote learning for those isolating and help set cover for the absent staff. Then on top of that I have all the usual work stuff of behaviour, homeworks etc. It's just hard.
Anyway. I can't chat tonight - I have more work to do and would like to get to bed at a reasonable hour if I possibly can.

Hey everyone
Just a very, very quick check in from me to let you all know I'm still about - just far too busy to be checking in properly. Everything seems to have come at once. We're 6 members of staff in the department down due to Corona, isolation or looking after children who have been sent home to isolate, including our head of department. There are two seconds in department and thankfully we have both still been in work for all of last week and we're just about hanging on in there but we're very tired indeed.
On top of that, with the new examiner role I have just started looking at marking of the November exam series. It's nowhere near as busy as usual but it's definitely busy and I'm on a steep learning curve so having to take longer there than I used to.
Thought I'd better just pop on to say all is well but I'm incredibly busy - just in case any of you were wondering...
