It's certainly nice to know that you are ok, CCL, just very busy. Look after yourself.

Evening all.
Still mad busy here - I can't believe it's almost 7pm now and I'm only just finishing up working for the day. It's been another non stop one. I need to eat something better than a chocolate bar or a sandwich so I have some veggies roasting in the oven in the hope of getting a few vitamins and minerals down my neck. Diet is abandoned...
Other than that I'm juggling school work and exam work in equal measure at the moment and don't predict that I will get much rest or time off between now and Christmas. Still, as long as I don't get sick it shouldn't be a problem. Who needs sleep anyway?
I will be back properly at some point before too long and have a good, long catch up with you. But short term I just need to relax and have a bit of a break while I can.Not giving up

Hello
I am so sorry that I appear to have gone off the face of the universe over the past couple of weeks. I'm not going to lie - I'm busy and struggling to keep up with everything so something has had to give and I'm afraid it's been checking in on here. I'm sorry, but at the moment I am doing 2 full time jobs, one of which is as hard as I have ever known it to be (the teaching) and the other which is new so I'm learning (and it's a steep learning curve). On top of that I have been rushing to meet a crochet deadline now that I'm a pattern tester for my favourite designer. So something had to give and I'm afraid it's my time on here and keeping a very close eye on my finances. It's mostly positive though - I'm making sure that I get enough sleep, looking after my health as best I can given the situation I'm currently in and trying not to get myself too wound up about things that are beyond my control.
My budgeting hat has slipped a little but I am so busy at the moment that I don't have time to be spending money and besides which the shops are shut anyway. And we go straight into tier 3 next week after the latest lockdown - the shops might be open but I have no time or desire to be there this close to Christmas in a pandemic.
Christmas is much scaled back this year. I have arranged to see my mam on Christmas Day and my sister on Boxing Day. I would be lying if I said I knew whether or not that was breaking the rules, but I keep telling myself how many people I work with on a day to day basis and the fact that I haven't seen my mother for months. I have a week between finishing at school and Christmas Day so long enough for me to get sick and cancel if I'm going to get sick, and hopefully go and enjoy my day without spreading Covid. Seems to have scaled back a bit at school - touch wood. Over 1100 kids in school and currently less than 30 in total off isolating. The bigger problem is keeping enough staff in school, either when they get sick or when their own kids are sent home from school. It's been years since I've been this worn out with teaching - still love the job but it's not what it should be. Hopefully some sense of normality will resume before too long now. I really hope that there is an end in sight somewhere - it feels too hard at the moment.
Kids have been very understanding about the lack of money this year but I have managed to get them a few bits and pieces at least. I haven't gotten much for anyone else and haven't made any alcohol or chutney gifts this year. I might get to making something that doesn't take weeks as and when I get my marking finished. Foxgloves - you might be able to recommend me something quick and easy? I was thinking stuff like fudge or biscuits. I don't even have many blankets ready to give away this year - time spent working or rejuvenating the house (that took ages). Ah well - 2020 has been different in every other sense of everything, Christmas might as well be different as well. I've learned it's always about the people that you have in your life - not the things that you have to give to people etc.
Right. That was a long check up. I need to head off and get a shower before I have my all day exam meeting tomorrow. I'm sorry I don't have time to catch up on your diaries. But I will be back sooner or later - you can't get rid of me that easily.
I really hope that you're all doing well - sorry I don't have more time.
