Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

I can vouch for the 4 x 18 loo rolls, but they are £10 here at the Farm of Frozed Food, not £12, but it might be different in Northern Pounds.I am in favour of the schools staying open, but got 3 emails about 1 child testing positive in each of my 3 boys' years today, not in their 'form bubbles' though. DS1 is still self isolating from the last one in his form to conk out with it. Did wonder why they did not just say 'ok - reintroduce coursework' and maybe standardised 'end of topic / book tests' Then at least there is a solid physical piece of evidence to back up your predicted grades and that the kids know their stuff. More work I know, but the kids are stressing out about the point of learning for an exam that might not happen on a subject they might not have been taught.I guess Boz thought that if he could limp on until December then the schools would break for 2 weeks anyway (or longer at posh kids' schools ). 25% of DH's students are self-isolating already, so he is happy he went to full online teaching, as they can all still engage.I can honestly say we have been a lot busier at the f/b the last fortnight too. Lots of people are feeling the pinch.Just remember the 1% challenge. You are aware of your debt level, keep an eye on it, do not hide from it. You can't eat an elephant whole. Small goals, small chunks, percentages add up.

They were £12 for 4 x 18 rolls today in Farm foods, they have recently gone up from £10, the cashier was discussing it with the customer in front of me today. No idea if this is national or regional 😃Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Yes, they were £10 last time I bought 4 packs in July, but the price has definitely gone up. I feel as though I literally need every penny at the moment. I always do anyway, but more so at the moment with Christmas fast approaching and me having no spare cash and hardly any savings. Thankfully my kids are particularly lush and are happy with the fact that we have an almost completely redecorated house with new bedrooms and furniture - so they know not to expect too much for Christmas. I have bought ds a pair of the expensive tick brand trainers - cheapest in the shops £95 - bought on eBay for £40, worn once. I have a box to put them in and he will never know that they are not brand new. And I will certainly not tell him.
Work is hard at the moment. And more than a bit depressing. I came in early this morning to try and help out a bit and walked into a blazing row with my head of department. It's all stress related. Trying to teach, set online learning, setting cover for absent staff, dealing with disaffected students. There literally isn't time for anything any more. My lessons are rubbish, I'm working through breaks and lunches, not getting home until late. And it's only day two of the new half term. There are another 6 and a half weeks to get through yet, including lockdown teaching. It's all too new and feels a bit too much for me to deal with. I'm stupidly excited about the break I'm going to get doing exam marking. And it's literally two days off school - the rest is weekends and evenings.
And thanks for the motivation f0xh0les. The fact that I'm beyond skint is starting to stress me out a bit and I'm starting to feel like I did in 2010 when everything hit the fan at work and home at the same time. That was when I went into my DMP. I don't need a DMP - I have enough money to cover everything, I just can't get the debt down as quick as I would like and that's a bit stressful for me. Ah well.

Easy for me to say but please try and take at least a quick break at lunch or you will burn yourself out. I used to be the same working in complaints department for a government department. The complaints were never going to go away but I kept telling myself it would get better if I just worked a bit harder and a bit longer each day. It came to a head when I was picking my husband up after work and sat in the car in his work car park crying uncontrollably for no reason I could think of. Just look after you too xxx12

I am starting to get to the point TDQ where everything went wrong in 2010... I can feel it coming. Trouble is that lunch is only 30 minutes which disappears quite quickly when you're finishing up one lesson and getting ready to start the next one. And all the people that I usually look to for me to get some reassurance are all melting down as well. I can't believe I feel this stressed out in a job that I love. It's good that I'm not alone, but not good that we're just left to it.Not giving up

Do try & get at least something to eat at lunchtimes, CCL. Years ago, I had a spell of anxiety disorder & didn't know at the time that low blood sugar can cause symptoms very similar to anxiety. I'd have coped better through difficult times at work had I known about that & ensured I had a suitable breakfast & lunch. If I ever feel a bit 'panicky' now, I can almost guarantee it will be blood sugar related. Anyway, just mentioning it as it's another thing in the 'dealing with stress' toolkit.
