Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

Morning
Well, I'm still beyond exhausted. The first cat woke me up at half past two this morning and then I've been up at fairly regular intervals since. However, I do feel a lot better today. Two things happened last night - I went out for a long walk to clear my head, and I got my period. I have been thinking for a while that these feelings of utter despair are hormonal but I think I now have my proof - because although I'm shattered I feel ok this morning. I'm sure that the walk helped but it's not the only reason surely? It was nice to have some company - I went with my allocated adult in my social bubble and we went through the woods as it was getting dark. And it was pittling with rain, and we laughed so much on the way round because it was so muddy and hard work walking. Felt like a cross between the Blair Witch Project and that episode of the Vicar of Dibley where she jumps in a puddle. My ankle hurts this morning and my legs ache because it's a long time since I walked for 2 hours but it was definitely worth it.
So I have a headache and I'm tired, but I definitely feel ok and like I can get through today.
The kitten is doing well - he's gorgeous and cheeky and happy, and likes to sleep on my bed, in my spot, but not on me - which means that I have to sleep around him. I will try and send a picture to my computer and see if I can add it here. When he lies down he lies really flat and looks like a carpet to me, lol. Had to take the original naughty tortie to the vet last night - she needed her regular treatment for her poorly digestive system. Thankfully the lump I'd found turned out to be a stitch they'd missed after her last surgery so I can stop panicking about that now. Still £67 lighter which leaves me less than a fiver until payday on Wednesday. But I don't need anything over the weekend, and we're locked down anyway so I'm hoping that we will survive ok.
And crochet is ongoing. I am in the middle of testing a shawl pattern for someone and am hoping to get at least one more blanket in before Christmas.
Let me see if I can sort a photo of the kitten

Glad you're feeling a little better. Have you asked your Dr about hormone treatment? It certainly sounds as though it could make your life easier. ((hugs)) X

CCL - I wonder if you are gearing up for a bit of a troublesome perimenopause like me.... mine started around age 40.....but if so, the good news is that I have sailed through the actual menopause with virtually zero symptoms. My perimenopausal symptoms were a bit better if I made an effort to keep my blood sugar nice & even, otherwise the monthly exhaustion was awful. I can honestly say that the menopause has been a blessing for me.
Great that you got your walk.
