Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

Evening
No change here. Still miserable, still not enjoying work, still hormonal and tired, and still no news about the job.
I did just slob and do nothing last night, and went to bed and was asleep by 10. Woke up this morning and it was still dark, and I didn't want to go to work - but then decided I would treat myself with a drive through cup of tea and bacon sarnie from the golden arches. Got ready, ordered on the app, drove there, checked in and paid through the app - and the effing restaurant was closed. So I paid for my sarnie and cuppa but got nothing. I actually just felt like crying. Tried to ring their customer services but they aren't currently taking phone calls - so I've had to write a whingey email and try not to think any more about it.
Got to work about 7.45 and could not find my motivation anywhere. I have to wear a mask to walk to the photocopier, and the toilet, and across the corridor to talk to my head of department. It's just rubbish, and totally beyond fed up of the pandemic, and wanting to see my own family and friends and not being able to, and then loads of kids missing from school, and staff having to isolate. I have no problem with working, and working hard, but it's really not fun at all. Ah well. Still moaning for almost 48 hours now. I planned to leave work asap tonight, but my head of department was called out to leave at lunchtime as they sent his son home from school with a headache (?!?). Then another member of staff got called out for her daughter early afternoon. So I couldn't run away - joys of being in the role I'm in at work I suppose. We already have 1 member of staff self isolating at the moment - I don't know how much longer we can keep going. Ah well - onwards!

Can't help but just wanted to say sorry that you are feeling so bad. Take care of yourself and just look after you and your youngsters when at home xxx8

I read along, but rarely comment- but just want to say- it's fine to moan! I feel like if everyone followed the general guidelines all the restrictions would be kept at "minimal" levels, but as so many people seem to be ignoring all the rules and have the attitude they can do whatever they want, the rules will keep getting stricter. DD is in primary school and I don't know how teachers are coping- it's because you are a good teacher and care about your pupils that you find it hard. Phone your bestie and have a catch-up, video call if you can, but most of all- keep on plodding, cuddle your cats and one day it will all be back to normal! I'll go and hide in the corner again.12

The week is ticking on... my mood is still low and there's nothing to report at all because everything is just the same. Work is still hard and feels pointless, I am tired all of the time and missing social adult company. And I've also started waking up again between 3-4am and not being able to get back to sleep. Ah well...Not giving up

I think everyone is struggling right now just to keep` plodding` but hopefully we will get there.
Write a list of all the things you`ve achieved this year with your kids and you should feel justifiable proud!
It hopefully will cheer you up as well. xx11 -

CCL do you get seasonally affected? Lots less daylight about the last week or two.Plus, you are a good interactive responsive teacher. You should feel frustrated about having to teach like this, it is restricting your creativity in the classroom. It just shows that you are good at what you do, and have found the best way to do it to get the results needed. Right now you are doing the best you can in the given situation. How is lovely kitten son? Missing the updates on the fluff-monsters.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
