Sorry to hear you've been feeling low as well but glad that's it's lifting now

Work this week has been horrendous, just incident after incident.  It's been so emotionally draining and I've been 1-3 hours late finishing every day so no running, living off rubbish because I don't have the energy to make anything when I get home and no idea where I am money wise except that my bank balance looks a lot lower than usual :s

Ah well now on my weekend off and then only 3 days to work before I go to visit my parents.  Beautiful day here so I've cut the grass and done some weeding plus gone for a walk up to Lid! to get supplies for tonight and had a lovely chat with my gran.  I've got a socially distanced girl's night round at my friend's flat so I got pizza, nibbles and drinks to take with me.

Tomorrow I will gather receipts, look at ynab and my bank account and try to work out where my finances are at but for tonight I'm just going to have fun and enjoy seeing my friends again

Thanks beanie and Lookafterthepennies.  I had a lovely night - was great to see my friends and have a good moan about things   We've provisionally pencilled in another night for mid August and hope to go out for dinner and a few drinks.

I've been through my finances this morning and it's actually not quite as bad as I thought.  Although there is a £19.99 charge for G00gle play from a few days ago and I have no idea what it is.  The charge doesn't appear on either mine or OH's play accounts so have reported it to the bank and queried it with G00gle so fingers crossed I'll get that money back.  There is also £2.05 that I can't account for which I can only assume is a cash purchase from the local shop that I didn't get a receipt for.  Ah well I'm not going to stress out over a couple of quid.

There's only £24.41 left in the grocery budget for the month but we have plenty of food, cleaning supplies, toilet rolls, etc so it should be fine.  I plan to go through the fridge, cupboards and freezer to make a meal plan to do us to the end of the month and I'm away to visit my parents from Thurs-Tues so that cuts down our food bill

There's money sitting in my account to cover the direct debits for the rest of the month and there's £31.39 left in the petrol budget.  I just filled up the car on Friday so with the trip to see my parents (approx 350 mile round trip), that should be ok.  I've already paid for my boat tickets and I'll need about £15-£20 to cover parking at the ferry terminal as I'm not taking my car over with me plus a little bit of spending money to cover maybe going out for a coffee or drink.

I'll need to walk up to my friends at some point today to get my car back and I might brave going into town as I need to get a present for my brother and SIL for the birth of their twins.  I haven't been into any shops other than supermarkets since the start of lockdown so I'm actually a little bit nervous about going into town.

    Thanks Julie :)

Grocery budget is now down to £22.02 as I bought a can of juice and crisps while out yesterday.  I also got a present and card for my brother, SIL and the twins.

Meal plan has been done so toast or porridge for breakfasts, ham sandwiches for lunch tomorrow and Wed and then crackers and brie for lunches Wed-Fri next week.  Cauliflower cheese for tea tomorrow and quiche on Wed.  Away Thurs, back on Tues.  Sausage rolls on Tues, pasta on Wed, chicken and noodles on Thurs and veg curry on Fri.  While I'm away, OH probably won't really cook but there's plenty of cereal, crackers, bread, cheese and eggs plus a pizza and steak bakes in the freezer so he won't starve   I'll leave him £10 from the food budget in case he needs anything which will then leave £12.02 for the last few days of the month.

Not much else to report, still haven't got up the motivation to go running but at least today was a better day at work and I got finished on time

    Thanks beanie, I need it.

Another bad shift tonight, supposed to be finished at 10pm and I've just finished 10 mins ago.  Really need to get to sleep but of course I feel wide awake.

NSD today and got my payslip through so will work on a budget at some stage during my wee break.

Oops haven't posted for quite a while.  Had a lovely break away, just what I needed and work has thankfully not been as bad since getting back.

Didn't spend much while away - just petrol plus £21 parking and £12.20 for lunch out.  Yesterday I spent £43.52 on food and cleaning products, £17.50 on toiletries and £9 on compost and plants.

    Budget for August - £1967.80
    - £950 usual bills
    - £240 groceries (extra £10 as needed quite a few toiletries this month)
    - £150 car
    - £100 petrol
    - £150 car fund
    - £150 emergency fund
    - £25 clothes
    - £25 home and garden
    - £50 social
    - £100 holiday
    - £27.80 flat deposit

Trying to build up the savings pots as much as possible before starting to save for a deposit properly and overpay the car.

I've managed to go out for a run today, only 3.5km but pleased with that considering I haven't run for weeks.  I've also signed up to weight watchers as I keep losing the same 4 pounds over and over  so hoping it kickstarts some actual weight loss.
