Midlife Musings and Measurable Goals

Thanks everyone
I couldn’t sleep last night so up late today. The focus for today will be work as I feel creative so I am going with it. Lots of healthy food in and prepped so no need to cook. I bought a face mask online but I will be deconstructing it to make my own. I’ll have to do it by hand but it should be achievable.
One of the much loved people I wanted to live close to might not be here in the near future so where I live opens up. I’m thinking of a major change and it is very scary by myself so I’ve been reading AC’s first diary. What I’ve learnt so far? Renting for 6 months first will probably be my way forward…
Work goal : 20 things applied for to support my creative process.
Contacted 2 people about a work application
Started a new application for a residency in 2021
House goal: 20 new home improvements (1-2 a month)
Chased kitchen fitter
Handyman called re shelves (On lockdown out of the country until September!)
MSE goal: 20 actions that improve my financial situation (1-2 a month)
NSD 11/26
Another appointment made for getting rid of car
A good day for walking so I will get a walk in this afternoon.
I hope everyone is having a good day.

Frustrating re the handyman. Hope you find other solutions. I regularly plot out my long term goals - and some of the steps I need to get there. I then cross them off (and often add others) as I achieve them. I have a sticker I made for my front door which asks, 'Will my future self thank me for this decision?'Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You still seem very much in charge of everything DIA 😼
You have a plan , and seem to be taking all the right steps to make things go in the right direction .I do of course agree that renting first is the way to do things . You can see how it panned out for me . The only thing that I can advise if I may , is to stay with the area that you had/have in mind that you want to move to if you are fairly familiar with it . Try to be fairly close to shops , train station but not too close .Looking at my 1st diary, you will probabky guess that I'm not that brave but I don't regret leaving London . Hope it's not too much heavy going for you. You'll probably have lots of emotions , but hopefully you can keep on track and everything works out .
I'll leave it there ..7 -
Thanks @another_casualty I will do my homework before the big move for sure. I think you put yours on sale in the spring and you were gone in the autumn. I have the rest of the year to get my act together. I'm not that brave either but no doubt I'll get there in the end, as you did

Well today the focus was the car but that fell through. At least I got all my paperwork for it in order and spruced the car up. I'm now even more determined to get rid, as it is a drain on my mental energy. Yawn.
Confessing to keeping a bag and a jumpsuit. Both in the sale, one I've waited for a full year to be reduced. Both items I LOVE so they stay
I am going for a walk and will top up on fruits whilst trying to avoid the crisp aisle
