I only have one wall mounted cupboard in the kitchen. One of the doors just feel off! I had a few seconds of feeling sorry for myself for being my age and not having a decent kitchen. Then I took the other door off and welcomed myself to the world of open shelving. Funnily enough I think I prefer it...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I have open shelves along one wall in my kitchen. I love it, easy access to all my plates and things. Five shelves £14 each from the big yellow and blue shop.
Enjoy Scotland, I am in the process of booking for me and my daughter to go up to one of the islands to visit friends after her gcse's this summer.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉6 -

I have an okay kitchen but one of my doors fell off that had my mugs and glasses in it. It kept coming off and like you we decided in the end to leave it open and it is so much easier to make drinks etc.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You sound back on track , or thereabouts DIA . A few frogs to deal with still regarding the doors 🐸🗝. One door opens ..and another falls off . Actually sounds very artisan 🥐🍰
something like that . Anyway, keep going 🐇6 -
Thanks everyone
I will definitely be going for open shelving when the kitchen is refitted as its a cheaper option. It also seems less cluttered somehow when space is restricted.
No happy new nails as the college cancelled so it will have to wait a few weeks now. Hey ho.
So wet, cold and grey here. I did not get out and I was not motivated to get anything done. Tomorrow will be better. I'll make sure of it. On the plus side? A other NSD and lots of soup made. I seem to have a soup obsession going on. There are worse things.

I lost a post so here is the shortened version...
Tried to go swimming, trains cancelled, took bus, got there late, no flip-flops for the shower, abandoned and went home.
Have a new bag now, packed with a complete swim kit that will be constantly ready.

re the locks, a good anti snap "euro cylinder" lock can be had for £20 (just measure the old one). and if its a upvc "multi point locking" door, they can be changed with a common screwdriver.. screwfix and youtube are your friends here!
