Thanks to all the lovely people who have enquired how I am. I appreciate it, more than you can know. I am okay. Thank you.
I have had some health issues that have got me a bit down. I have my last hospital appointment next week so I should have a clear picture then.
The neighbours are not great (although I am sure some people have much worse) after all the heavy work that wasn’t authorised they have applied for planning permission. I just have to hope they have not damaged my home. The planning permission notice is out so I need to get my mood improved so I can survive their extension going up.
My plan is to wait until this has been done as I doubt ongoing work will be a plus for potential buyers. It gives me time to get things prepared on my house ready for my escape. I need to keep focused on my own goals and not allow their antics to throw me off track.
I dislike the new MSE forum format. I can’t see who is on easily, or who has thanked them at a glance. I can’t ‘hover’ over a post. It feels like a favourite place has been taken over by mad interior designers and I no longer feel comfortable popping in. I dislike the editing process. It has stopped feeling like a place I want to go to. Moan, moan, blah, blah. Anyway, I am committing to stay for now although I expect I will post less or maybe I will get used to it?
I haven’t made any house progress. I still need to decorate the little office, get a blind and begin to use the space.
Am doing absolutely rubbish on tackling difficult things. Frogs are hopping about all over the place!
I made a decision to pay the deposit for a week away in the Autumn so I have something to look forward to when I am back from Scotland. Yes, the house needs work and funds are less than buoyant, but life goes on and I need to protect my mental health.
Time has passed and Scotland is now imminent thank goodness. I need to breathe in clean air, walk and be creative. I can’t wait.
Off to catch up on diaries.

Sorry to hear about the health side of things DIA . Hopefully , it's something you can conquer with all the other stuff that's going on .You are doing great treading on eggshells with your neighbour situation . Hopefully they can get their stuff out of the way sooner rather than later , so that you could hopefully list your home on the summer . When your mind is settled eventually , you can focus again on the exterior / squirrels etc and other big jobs and you can pick up at the pace you were a couple of weeks ago and tackle the frogs 🐸
The things you say about the new look mse are exactly the way I see it . The annoying thing is the thanks button .
Anyway, I'll leave it there
Have a good weekend ( what's left of it )😼5 -
Hi DIA
I miss the thanks button and the easy glance at who everyone is. Hopefully as people re-upload an image to their profile it will become easier again. I hope your health issues resolve quickly. Good to see you back posting.
