another_casualty said:Sorry to hear of your situation DIA . Hopefully all is well on the health side of things for you . It's horrible when you have to go for those type of scans . On the day I went to moorfields eye hsp in central London while nipping out of the office , I ended up going to Kingston hsp and had mri and cat scans . I unfortunately don't have a cat 🙀. It was a horrid day and 12 hrs of hell . Anyway I'll leave it there . The older we get life becomes a pita to maintain what we're used to . Glad the windows got sorted and you're thrilled with them . Your home will look much better should you decide to move on . Don't start moving stuff around till you're ready . Plenty of time . We're having a storm here on Sunday and possibly tomorrow evening as well .If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. The rug sounds promising. Can a friend or neighbour help put the shelf up? I agree about the importance of a good chair and making sure the table is at the right height. If it's any consolation my friend couldn't do the MRI. Too claustrophobic. A patient of mine didn't get warned about the noise and buzzed them to stop. He didn't get a very good reception. They should've told him that despite playing music it would be noisy!!!!
Good news about the windows and the study. I long for the day. We have an extension which is currently an empty shell. The top room will eventually become a study. This will free up the space for a dining table.
All good stuff
You'll get there with your house too. If you knew how many years that room has been unusable you would not believe me!If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Not feeling 100% but that's okay. I plan on having a NSD.
I will be making soup and reading.
I am not up to stripping the walls in the 'study' yet. But as AC often says all in good time (or words to that affect)
I want to do the bathroom as my next big project once the 'study' is complete, so today I will be looking at my finances to see if there is a way of making that possible. There is a brilliant outlet shop so I envisage starting to take a walk there a few times a week and if I find anything I'll store it in an outbuilding I have. The outbuilding needs decluttering and cleaning so I guess that gives me a loose plan of what I need to do over the next few months
Happy Sunday everyone

Hi DIA - you are making great progress on things that have built up for years. Hopefully with each step you can feel a little freer. I couldn't use my study for a year or two until last summer as it was over waist high in boxes and bags. Just since August it had reaccumulated a layer of boxes and bags so can relate. This time we are putting a new bed in it and hoping that helps make the difference. I think it will.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
